I picked the Fuzzy Feet option (oops). When you get to Champion of the Winterpelt, if you talk with [npc=199315], his gossip text reads:

So, your advice to marry Fuzzy Feet... I didn't act on it.

But it made me realize how I feel about Glohza, so I might ask her, instead!

Also, [npc=200206] will have gossip text which reads:

Did Toz talk to me? No, not since I chased him off last spring. He clearly has a crush on Glozha.

Besides: I've got my eye on the chief!

Meanwhile, [npc=200207] makes no mention of [npc=199315] in her gossip text:

It's so nice to have our elders back again. The village felt so empty without them here.

Thank you, new friend.

After leaving the cave, the NPCs seem to retain their gossip text, so if you missed it in the cave, you should still be able to see it.

Oh, and if you visit [npc=199996] again, he'll scold you a bit with his gossip text:

Why did you suggest Toz marry Fuzzy Feet? I clearly had said Brightfur was best for him!

Still, no harm done: he had enough sense to realize it was a mistranslation.
