Because your character dumbs down their way of questioning so the Tuskarr can better understand them. Talking fancy and using words made by The Kirin Tor such as "Leylines" doesn't work on a simple fishing folk from The Dragon Isles. However, describing what the locations look like will do the trick, because they know the land they call home very well. And Leylines tend to manifest themselves as purple crystals in caves.
