There's a ton of those lil plamps, and they respawned very quickly. Not that they needed to, I was able to finish the quest in one sweep of the area.
Venomsprout Shootlings has 2 spawn points and 6-7 min respawn timer with 15% drop rate of spiked leaves. Come prepared to wait or work on leveling fishing.

Nice, safe spot for low level alts as well, no real enemies to deal with while killing the [npc=193670], which were very easy to kill.
