Something about being in the river of souls is one of the more chilling, horrifying moments I've ever experienced in all my years playing this game. The ambient sound that plays is suitably unsettling, and the sea of the dead rushing past you one after another, all speaking in a clamor, paints a grim, doomy image. Here's a collection of quotes I saw from the souls of the damned:
"I had so much life left to live!"
"It...it can't be..."
"There were children on that boat, please..."
"Can't you see me?"
"But...what about my family?"
"This can't be how my story ends..."
"Don't see me, don't see me, don't see me..."
"Elune will protect us..."
"Has he forgotten me?"
"Join us..."
"How did I get here?"
"I expected this all along."
"What just happened to me?"
"I expected this all along."
"I didn't make it to her in time."
"Hello? Hello? Is anyone out there?"
"Please help me, I'm dying!"
"She will come save me..."
"Spare me this torment!"
"Is this the afterlife?"
"Don't let it take me!"
"Death becomes us."
"No no no no no no no...no..."
"It's so cold..."
"I...did it. I sacrificed everything."
"FIRE! THERE'S A FIRE!"
"Lord Illidan will show us the way."
"When I said I'll be damned I didn't mean this..."
"For the Horde!"
"For the Alliance!"
"I trusted in Sylvanas..."
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
"Sk'yahf qi'plahf PH'MAGG!" (Shath'Yar for "Your soul will know ENDLESS TORMENT!")While there are some amusing ones in the mix, the majority are a stark insight into the final living moments of some of these souls. The most interesting, to me, is the soul speaking Shath'Yar, the language of the Old Gods. Perhaps those are the souls of Shadow Priests who succumbed to the persistent madness at the fringes of their minds, or perhaps it's something a bit more sinister. We may never know. But this is already, in my mind, one of the best mood-setting, world-building, emotion-provoking bits of questing I've ever done, in spite of, or perhaps thanks to, its simple execution.

If you cross the River of Souls without trying the bridge first, you won't get credit. You need to head to the bridge, try to cross it, and then get knocked into the River.
To complete the quest you need to cross the bridge over Gorgoa, the River of Souls.
As usually, follow Jaina and pals towards the brdige over Gorgoa and make an attempt to cross it
Unfortunatelly there Helya appears and push you off the bridge into the river of souls.
Run to the marked spot and leave the river so you can turn in the questBy and Down the River quest - https://youtu.be/G9uEK-woZDs?t=1911

Description
Our next step is clear. We must travel to Zovaal's Cauldron--a frightful place I've heard spoken of in fanatical whispers. It's a forge of sorts that lies across the River of Souls. I have only been there a handful of times, but I have seen Baine held captive by the soldiers there. If fortune favors us, he'll still be nearby. Once he's safe, we can see about finding this waystone the shade spoke of.

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits
Before this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- From the Mouths of Madness
I cannot express my gratitude enough for your help, champion. We mustn't linger, however. The Jailer's forces will soon be alerted to the disturbance here. Let us leave this place at once!
After this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Wounds Beyond Flesh
Even as Baine's flesh mends, his spirit draws closer to death. I have seen dark magic like this before... among the Shadowmoon clan. The Jailer's minions must have inflicted a similar malady upon Baine.
