Was anyone really surprised? "Oh hey, Mr. Troll-locked-in-a-cage, I'd love to make a blood pact with your using this dull knife. Instead of my own ax or sword, both of which probably won't give me tetanus. Then I'll run around killing buttloads of trolls for their 'mojo' and then give myself spirit visions using some kooky elixir you just mixed up, as that sounds completely safe as well."
Oh how could that possibly have gone wrong?

Description
Drak'Tharon soon be cleansed of them foul undead and restored to her noble purpose. In return for your help, the keep's most valuable treasures be yours, mon! Once ya be reachin' its top, ya must summon me, and I'll perform the ritual. Alas, my summonin' will be comin' at a cost. Ya must collect mojo from the survivors.
