To start this quest you need to be lucky and get [item=142559] from [npc=104415]. Drop chance looks kinda low.
Before turning quest in be sure to have 300 ancient mana ready,
After going to Dalaran and turning quest in you will get Cubic Currents
Next part will send you to Karazan Return to Karazhan: Cubic Cynosure
And the last part is Cubic Coalescing. As a reward you will get [item=142536]
Apparently you can get this quest again even after you've completed it and gotten the toy already. I got the toy back in Legion, and the quest item dropped for me again last night.
Just handed this in, needed 300 ancient mana to complete next quest.
Now I need to kill mana devourer in return to kara.
