There is a pre-quest leading players to [npc=54692], the Alliance version is Eckert the Mad and obtained from [npc=21400] talking about "treasure and ancient knowledge" in the Alliance's Allerian Stronghold. The Horde version is Grek's Crazy Night and can be acquired from [npc=19606] (he is busy trying to get someone to read him the Wanted Poster board near the mailbox) in the Horde's Stonebreaker Hold. The mission is to speak to the "shiny mummy" in [zone=3792].

Safety is Job One and Undercutting the Competition are two new quests added in patch 4.3 to the Terokkar Forest area, and can be acquired from and returned to [npc=54692] inside of the [zone=3792] dungeon instance, which is a representative for [faction=933]. He is located in the northern-most instance portal, inside of the [zone=3792] itself. It is highly suggested to pick up Intriguing Specimens from [npc=54694] right next to [npc=54692] before clearing this dungeon.

In Safety is Job One, players must happily kill 10 Ethereal Crypt Raiders, 5 Ethereal Sorcerers, 5 Nexus Stalkers, and 5 Ethereal Spellbinders (links to each inside of the quest link) in [zone=3792]. All of these are mobs that are usually packed in mixed groups of 2-5 together, so if players are near the level for this zone, they should be careful of mixing pulls from other close groups as they may end up pulling 10-15 mobs in a single room at once. Some of the mobs are only located in the room just before [npc=18344].

For Undercutting the Competition players must acquire [item=28490] by killing anti-Consortium leader [npc=18344] in [zone=3792].

Players DO NOT need to be in Heroic mode in order to complete this quest.

(At level 85 with both guild perks, I received zero (0) guild rep, which may be a bug in the quest or new NPC coding. With both guild perks [spell=78635], players will receive 275 reputation with [faction=933], and 1 guild rep or 2 with [item=69210]) for each of the next two quests.)

When Eckert the Mad is turned in players will see:

"That meathead send you instead?"

<Artificer Morphalius looks you over.>

"I suppose you'll have to do."

(NOTE: Cookie! Notice the grammatical error and the extra '.' inside of <>'s above as of this patch?)

NPC chat text between [npc=54692] and [npc=54694]:

Artificer Morphalius says: "Look at me! You said I would be fine! Do I look fine?"

Mamdy the "Ologist" says: "I can only show you the door, Morphalius. You're the one that has to walk through it.

*Special note for patch 4.3 is that most Auchindoun/Ring of Observance quest NPCs have been moved from the four instance lobbies to actually inside of their respective instances.

ADDENDUM: As of this time few of the tooltips, quests, or Quick Facts have been updated linking items/NPCs/quests together. These are single quests and as yet do not have any associated chains or quests thereafter. Will continue to scan for changes and update as needed.

Description

I'm a skilled engineer, a brilliant inventor, the heart of any party, and the best dancer Azeroth has ever seen. Do they call me those things? No. But you have one run-in with an ethereal and all of the sudden everyone and their mother calls you "the mad". I saw one right here just yesterday, I swear it! He said if I followed him to the Mana Tombs in Auchindoun there would be vast treasure and ancient knowledge awaiting me!

Getting there

Inside the dungeon: Mana-Tombs

The original exiles on Draenor found death to be an unsettling and unfortunate consequence of life, and so the draenei hid their dead away in the subterranean grave-city of Auchindoun, a labyrinthine marvel located beneath the forests of Terokkar.

Bosses in the Adventure Guide, in order: Pandemonius, Tavarok, Yor, Nexus-Prince Shaffar.

Entrance: The Shadow Stair, Terokkar Forest at 39.6, 57.4.

Instance text, bosses and entrances are the client’s Adventure Guide data.
