TheWoWDBSo, this is a bit of an odd one. My main is a Dark Iron Dwarf mage, was originally a Gnome (race changed during BFA to get the Mole Machine ability). So I had never done this quest.
During the Dragonflight storyline, I was teleported back to Shadowforge City, where this quest was available (since I had never done it). Curious what would happen, I accepted it before being pulled back to Thaldraszus. I am now a level 70 Dark Iron Dwarf who has this quest in their quest log. And I am inclined to neither abandon it nor turn it in.

The mountain will always be home, but there's a whole world o' adventure up there on the surface. Ye look like just the sort o' {class} to find it. Fer a long time, the Dark Irons stood apart from the other kingdoms. The time has come tae show 'em that we fight fer Azeroth, too. There's an ambassador in Stormwind waitin' tae speak tae ye. He can help guide ye along on yer journey. The Alliance needs our strength, {name}. Get out there and show 'em the might o' the mountain!
