Currently getting my climbing equipment buff removed after 5-10 seconds of climbing (or even standing down on the ground). And no, it's not the "Holding on" buff that's running out. That will just drop you, not remove "Rock Climbing Gear" buff.

You need to be on the rock directly above an ore to click on the ore. Sometimes that rock is slippery which causes you to lose grip faster.
Took me a few attempts to work out what to do, so don't feel bad if you didn't work it out right away.Once you have it worked out, the quest is straight forward enough.
I'm pretty sure each time will be a little bit different. When I did this, one of the rocks (which appear in the linked Youtube video from this page) was missing, and so I had to find a different way. For those who find themselves stuck at 5/6 ore on this one, with no where else you can reach, check the lowest waterfall for a triggerable helping hand which was almost impossible to notice. This will get you on your way through two more rocks underneath the waterfall and to the otherside where I was able to get the 6th.
