Set Them Ablaze!

Set Them Ablaze! is a quest for level 15-30 in Searing Gorge. It is step 11 of 23 in the Searing Gorge storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Searing Gorge at 39.4, 67.9. It rewards 4,100 experience and money.

Description

I'm not sure if ye've noticed, but my tower's much taller than any o' the other towers here around the Gorge. Some dwarves pride themselves at how deep they can dig, but not me. Sometimes I think I shoulda been born a Wildhammer.

I still don't like the sight o' those other towers, though. Reachin' up like that, ticklin' my tower's feet. Here, take this torch, an' use it on the braziers atop those other towers. They'll be sorry they ever built 'em to begin with.

A warning in advance:

Before, Kaelan of the Black Dragonflight (pre-Cata) gave this quest with the same name. There, the Torch of Retribution did not disappear and might still be in your bank.

Even if you destroyed it, the first time, you might not get the Torch of Retribution. Abandon the quest, destroying the old Torch of Retribution (whether you destroyed it before or you have it in your bank) and picking it up again, will give you correctly the new Torch of Retribution.

Unfortunately, this new Torch of Retribution you will not keep after you completed the quest (sorry roleplayers).

This new one doesn't require you to be wield though (hurray for the levelers).

Edit: very late edit, but if you still have the old torch, you can use that as well to complete the quest. However, this also will be turned in and loose the torch.

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Siege!Searing Gorge · Level 15-30

That Overseer Oilfist couldn't'a picked a worse time to ask me to join a fight. My summit's already under siege! It's nothin' my guards can't handle, but still, it won't be easy for me to just pick up and send some dwarves into that infernal gorge.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • They Build a Better BulletSearing Gorge · Level 15-30

Those gorge-digging dwarves do at least one thing right: they make very high-quality bullets. I've been unable to reproduce their results, so I've taken to stealing whatever bullets of theirs that I can find. Ye want my help? Get me a couple hundred bullets from those marksmen below.
