putting this here, since hopefully both Alliance & Horde can/will see it:

If you are just here for for a 'fast' Thorium rep run, DO NOT SKIP LUNK'S TASKS!

Seriously, he will change many of the upcoming questlines (for Thorium Brotherhood), and they're all humorous. If you had ever done the 'old' rep grind for TB, give Lunk's version a go. :)

wtb: spider mount. XD

This quest is somewhat annoying for groups, as the Dark Iron Memo only drops for one in the group, in contrast to all other similar quests I've done so far. Usually these (named) mobs drop the item for all party members. I suspect this quest is bugged in this regard. Being in a 5-man party, we had to kill this mob 5 times.

What to do

StorylineSearing Gorge, step 1 of 23
RewardsRockhead Helm, Oilfist Globe, Jack's Lucky Charm, 10g 50s, 4,100 XP

Description

You've arrived just in time. Here's the skinny: the Dark Iron dwarves in the gorge have been acting strangely, and the Thorium Brotherhood intends to find out why. Overseer Oilfist doesn't like surprises. We suspect that they're following orders from some new leader. I have reason to believe that Gravius Grimesilt, just south of here, knows who it is. Even here in Searing Gorge, we've begun to hear tales of your exploits, {name}. You should have no problem with Grimesilt.

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

  • Dig-Boss DinwhiskerSearing Gorge · Level 15-30

Grimesilt wasn't as high up on the chain as I thought. We'll have to take out his superior and find out what he knows. Dig-Boss Dinwhisker's his name, and he runs the Dark Iron digging operations within the Cauldron, just northwest of here.
