The Argent Tournament

I - The Argent Tournament
Welcome to the Argent Tournament - a gathering of heroes from around Azeroth on the Lich King's doorstep in Icecrown. As the Argent Crusade continues their efforts against the Scourge, they also promote competition through the system of mounted combat. Grab a lance, hop on a mount, and hold on tight.

II - Aspirant
Now that you have learned the basics of mounted combat, you must prove yourself further in both mounted combat practice, unmounted Scourge combat, and adventuring to find ancient artifacts from maidens in lakes before you have the right to represent your faction in the Tournament.

3) Up To The Challenge (Alliance) You must complete the following daily quests to gain Aspirant's Seals:

--- ii - Learning the Reins
--- iii - One of the following daily blade quests (different every day):

------ A Worthy Weapon (Alliance)
------ The Edge of Winter (Alliance)
4) The Aspirant's Challenge (Alliance) - In this quest, you must defeat your first NPC in mounted combat. Use the attacks that you learned before. When the NPC runs away, use your Charge attack once he's out of range and once you pass him, turn around and throw a Shield Breaker. Try to keep your shield at 3 at all times. When you're not charging or shield breaking your opponent, use the Thrust attack.

III - Valiant
Congratulations! You have passed the Aspirant's Challenge and now may become a Valiant of your faction. As you hone your skills, you must now prove yourself worthy against competitors from all over Azeroth and even fight for the Crusade's cause at the footsteps of Icecrown Citadel.

5) A Valiant of <faction> - The quest giver will now lead you to the representative of your faction so that you may begin the road to Championship. You must complete your faction's quest chain first.

5B) If you have already become a Champion of your faction, you may now choose another faction to become a Champion of. You may only be working towards one faction at once, but can eventually become a Champion of all of the home cities of the Alliance/Horde.

6) The Valiant's Charge Much like Up To The Challenge, you must complete daily quests to gain Valiant's Seals.

7) The Valiant's Challenge - Once again, you find yourself facing off against an NPC in order to gain a title - but this NPC is stronger and a bit harder than the previous ones. Champion's start off with 3 stacks of shielding and renew it often. In addition to the tactics used against Valiant's, you may also occasionally have to "kite" the Champion by running past it a good bit and shooting one or two shield breakers. In addition, instead of charging it when the NPC runs away, you can try to fit in two shield breakers and get close to him before he can retaliate. Remember to keep your shielding up the whole time.

IV - Champion
Congratulations! Now that you have proven yourself in combat, the Argent Crusade has agreed to recognise you as a Champion of your faction. You may now take part it more rewarding dailies and earn Champion's Seals to purchase mounts, companions, armor, banners, and weapons.

Now that you have completed the primary quest chain for the Argent Tournament, you are given an Argent Gruntling. This guy, when summoned, will follow you around like a normal companion. However, you can also speak to him and tell him to carry a banner of any faction of which you are a Champion of. In addition, you will be awared a hefty 10 Champion's Seals (that's two days of dailies) for the first time you complete the chain. You may now do daily quests to get up to 5 Seals a day to purchase rewards. You can purchase rewards from quartermasters of any faction you are a champion of - the weapons and armor are the same for all factions, but the mounts, banners, and companions are different for each home city.

You may now go back to step 5B and choose a different faction to be a champion of.

Champion's Seals Dailies:

For every daily quest you complete, you will receive one Champion's Seal (two from the group quest Threat From Above) for a total of 5 per a day. In addition, you will be given the choice between a Champion's Writ, which can be used to purchase reputation boosts for any faction you are a Champion of, or if you don't want reputation, a Champion's Purse containing 10 gold (awarding you a total of 23g for each daily).

The Black Knight

The Black Knight quest chain is a medium-length quest chain that involves mounted combat and regular combat.
A competitor known as the Black Knight has arrived at the Tournament - and everyone who faces him dies. The Argent Crusade's leaders suspect foul play, so they dispatch you to solve the case.

1) The Black Knight of Silverpine/Westfall?

Completing this chain grants you the achievement It's Just a Flesh Wound and unlocks the Champion's Seal daily group quest Threat From Above.

Achievements

Argent Aspiration - Easy, simply take the first quest and complete it.
Argent Valor - Complete the quest Up To The Challenge and speak to your faction's leader to become a Valiant.
It's Just a Flesh Wound - Complete the Black Knight quest chain and slay the Black Knight.

Champion of <faction> - Become a champion of <faction>.
Exalted Champion of <faction> - Become a champion of <faction> and gain an exalted reputation with <faction>. Title Reward: <name> of <faction>

(Exalted) Champion of the Horde - (Become exalted with all 5 home cities of the Alliance and) Become a Champion of every Horde Home City.
(Exalted) Champion of the Alliance - (Become exalted with all 5 home cities of the Alliance and) Become a Champion of every Alliance Home City.

Exalted Argent Champion of the Horde - Become exalted with every home city of the Horde, become a champion of every home city of the Horde, and gain exalted reputation with the Argent Crusade. Title Reward: Crusader <name>
Exalted Argent Champion of the Alliance - Become exalted with every home city of the Alliance, become a champion of every home city of the Alliance, and gain exalted reputation with the Argent Crusade. Title Reward: Crusader <name>

Tilted! - Defeat another player in a mounted duel. Use the last command on the vehicle toolbar on your Tournament mount to challenge a player. Players can think, though, so they will probably be much harder than NPCs.

Lance a Lot - Defeat a rider of all 10 factions (both Alliance and Horde) in a mounted duel. Players do not count, only the NPC Valiants and Champions. This achievement can be achieved as soon as you become a Valiant, but the Horde and Alliance Valiants are in different rings.

There is currently no Meta-Achievement for the Argent Tournament, likely because the tournament is still progressing and is not yet complete.

Additional Quests

- The Blastbolt Brothers (No quest prerequisites required. Not required to start the next two quests, but it's reccomended as it's only a few steps away)
--- A Chip Off the Ulduar Block - Use the goblin "chisel" to blow up rock slabs in certain areas in the Storm Peaks. I frequently visit the Inventor's Library at (38,43). Step back because the bomb does damage if it explodes near you. Once the rock explodes, any player can collect the bits so I'd round them up fast.
--- Jack Me Some Lumber - Head to the Great Tree in Crystalsong Forest around (14,36) and look for highlightable level 1 oaks nearby. Use axes on them to get 2 logs. An elemental will attack you. You can try to snare/freeze/stun it and run to another tree, chop, and repeat or you can kill it. Whichever way suits you best.

- Contributin' To The Cause - Quest that requires you to donate 10g to the Argent Crusade. Grants 100 reputation with the Argent Crusade. Only really useful if you're not exalted.

On a final note, have fun at the Tournament

Do not faction change during the Argent Tournament because all quest, REP., and achievements will be reset.
