Couldn't complete the quest while I had the addon "SkipAllTheThings" enabled. Disabling it temporarily solved the problem.

Description
The Firmament Stone is one of the few anvils beneath the sky that can tolerate the hammer strikes necessary to craft demonsteel. Here, I will show you. Two parts leystone, one part felslate. No heat, no tempering, just pure strength and finesse. Try it. I will coach you.
