TheWoWDBNether Faerie Dragon 2/2/1 will destroy Vil'thik. Use moonfire on cooldown, pop life exchange when you are around 50% and fill with arcane blast, I was able to solo him with my H/P breed.

Easiest solution of all: bring 3x level 1 Magic pets, one of which is of course is the Shadowbarb Hatchling. If all your pets are level 1, then the enemy will be level 1. Piece of cake battle with Magic vs. Flying type advantage.
Edit: try to keep your Shadowbarb Hatchling from gaining experience so that the next time in this quest chain you have to pet battle, it's still only level 1.

Description
