i was unable to pick up this breadcrumb quest as well. i completed loremaster pre-cata and one of the quests i did got converted to having me completed the quest The Gordunni Threat in cata. since the quest To Stonemaul Hold is a breadcrumb quest that leads me to a new quest hub combined with the fact that i have already quested in the hub the breadcrumb would have sent me to. i was not qualified to pick up this quest :( on a side note from the best i can tell breadcrumb quests DO count toward loremaster. One way to check to see if you had the same problem as me then the quest Rulers of Dire Maul will be unlocked when it is actually a 2 quest chain.
I wasn't offered this quest at first. I had already been to Stonemaul Hold and had loaded up on the quests offered there. But I had not yet completed them. I checked my quest log and dropped the quest The Gordunni Threat while I was standing in Camp Ataya. As soon as I dropped that quest, this quest (To Stonemaul Hold) became available.

Description
You must send word of what has happened here, {name}. To the south is Stonemaul Hold. There, our allies have gathered the few ogres of the horde to fight against those despoiling these forests. Speak with Orhan Ogreblade. She leads the Stonemaul clan here, and will need to know of all that has occured. And be wary, lest some of this corruption remain...
