TheWoWDBTo be more precise: you don't have to kill the earth elementals. There are highlighted patches throughout the area that look like rocks with a yellow glowing bulb above them. Collect the energy from these patches and bring them to the red crystal at 65:58 and they will automatically discharge and fill the quest bar. I found collecting 5 or 6 of the temporary energy patches was enough to complete the quest.

To help those without coordinates, the crystal is in front of the researchers' tent on the rise next to the flight master.
To do this quest, go into the area defined on your map and kill earth elementals. When you have killed several, go find an hourglass-shaped thing and click the base to deposit the energy of the elementals into it. Then return to town and approach one of the red crystals to deposit the energy in it.
