In every expansion there is something that makes players waste their time and want to break the PC and quit WoW. This quest is this expansion's torture. You have to start the race, press 1 so you get speed, pass the first 4 circles with that speed, press 2 to get some height, pass ring 5 and use 1 again to go fast to ring 6, 7, 8. If you don't manage to do that 100% correctly, you are transfered back to the start. And then, oops, you do it again. And again. And again.
Quest
The Skytop Observatory
A World of Warcraft quest in The Waking Shores. Facts and objectives from the current retail game data.
The highest voted Wowhead comments for this page. They are community notes, not TheWoWDB comments.
Note that if you are having trouble completing the course by flying through the rings, you can just make your own way to the Observatory, and you will still be able to turn in the quest.
Dragonriding = 0/10. Want normal flying mounts back, please.

What to do
Description
Those are the basics of riding a drake! You are doing quite well. Now, I would like to introduce you to some of the others involved in this adventure. We have made a home for ourselves over at the Skytop Observatory. Celormu will be able to help guide you there. Speak to him when you feel ready to take to the skies! See you there!

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits
Before this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- The Need For Higher Velocities
Sometimes you'll need to travel longer distances. If you don't need to travel up and over any obstacles using Surge Forward is the easiest way to maintain a good forward speed to prevent yourself from plummeting out of the sky.
After this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Skyriding Talents and You
Obviously, it is not just Glensera and myself that are invested in these adventurers. Lithragosa is also excited to help you hone your dragonriding skills, and you have already met Celormu which is excellent. Your next stop is to speak to Lithragosa, who can show you what skills you can learn!
