TheWoWDB3 tips, not sure which exactly worked for me.. after multiple attempts, finally got it working.
1. Wait until it is fully 100% captured. It doesn't necessarily need to start at -100% though.
2. Don't be mounted (I've seen druids in flight form be able to do it though)
3. I went out of and back into warmode by talking to Ziadan at 34.83, 80.61 (This one might not be needed, but better safe than sorry)

You need to get the Void Post Defence debuff to complete the objective. Just dismount, get the debuff, then you can mount again and wait until your faction gains full control.
If your faction already controls the towers, staying and pushing the progress bar fully to your faction's side doesn't give this quest credit it seems.
Wait for a player of opposite faction to capture it and you can then recapture it.Edit: Even recapturing a tower from fully horde to alliance in my case, didn't give credit either. (This was during early access)
