Your First Mezzonic Protolock

The puzzle has 1's in all the places it wants you to click, I started from the top row and worked my way to the right on each row. Full credit goes to my guild member Tweety who watched me sit through this for an hour while I kept getting stuck.

This is really very simple to do with purely mechanical, predictable steps, in less than 30 seconds. No addons required.

This is a two-phase fight: phase 1 is the "downward sweep", and phase 2 is "build a new top row".

It goes p1 → p2 → p1 → win.

For phase 1 ("downward sweep") the strategy is simple. We want to clear every row from top to (almost) bottom. Working from the second row to the bottom row, click on any tile if and only if the tile directly above it is lit up.

At this point you will likely have "residue" left over in the bottom row.

So now we enter phase 2 ("build a new top row"). Click on ONLY elements of the top row to give you something in the top row that exactly matches the bottom row. This will scramble the 2nd row, but ignore that. Repeat: Do not click anything below the top row yet. You must click only on top-row cells until the top row matches the bottom row.

Now we just go back to phase 1 and do the "downward sweep" again – but this time, when we reach the bottom row, the puzzle will be solved.

There's actually a 'helper addon', that works on all 3 kinds of puzzles (Cantaric, Mezzonic and Fugueal): Zereth Mortis Puzzle Helper available on curse.

Cantaric one is the easiest, IMO, since you have to finish it with 7 clicks on either left or bottom runes. My strat is to count on both sides which of the 'empty/filled' runes I'll have to click and go for it.
Mezzonic can be one of the slowest to complete, but definitely the Fugueal one seems to be currently the 'hardest'. The addon at least might serve as a learning tool, then you might see fit to use it or not, in the future.

Edit: There are at least 2 more kind of puzzles, reminiscent of those of nazjatar, the line untying and the Bejeweled, that I found easy to complete manually anyway.
