Where you hear it

friendjoin.ogg tells you a friend has just entered the world. It fires for in-game character friends and shows alongside the system line announcing them. For many players it is the cue to send a quick whisper or a group invite. The sound is warm and quick, built to be noticed without stealing focus. Mapped to a phone, it is a natural contact or chat app alert.

TriggerPlays with the '[Name] has come online' system message when someone on your friends list logs in.

Over a text, a warm 1.5-second cue registers instantly and is hard to confuse with a stock phone chime.

On a soundboard the 1.5-second Friend Online clip lands and finishes before anyone has to stop talking.

Discord

  1. Download the OGG or MP3 above.
  2. Open Server Settings, Soundboard, Upload Sound, and pick the file.

Windows

  1. Windows sound schemes only take WAV files, so convert the MP3 to WAV first (Audacity or any audio converter does it in one export).
  2. Open Settings, System, Sound, More sound settings, then the Sounds tab.
  3. Pick an event such as Notification, click Browse, choose the WAV, then Apply.

OBS alert

  1. Download the MP3 above.
  2. In your alert tool (Streamlabs or StreamElements) set it as the alert sound file.
  3. Or in OBS add a Media Source with the MP3, untick Loop, and fire it with a hotkey.
