Where you hear it

ui_raid_boss_defeated_01.ogg plays with the banner that sweeps across the top of the screen after a boss dies. That banner, which also lists the loot the group received, arrived with Warlords of Draenor. The sound turns a kill into a ceremony, with a rising close that lasts almost five seconds. Progression guilds that wipe for weeks on one boss hear it as pure relief. It also plays on dungeon bosses, so Mythic+ runners hear several per key.

TriggerPlays with the boss-kill banner at the top of the screen after a raid or dungeon encounter ends in victory.

On a soundboard the 4.7-second Raid Boss Defeated clip lands and finishes before anyone has to stop talking.
