This is a complete head-to-toe outfit - it fills 8 armor slots, so it can be worn as a full look with nothing borrowed from another set. 11 of 14 pieces are Bind on Pickup.

Expansion

The Burning Crusade

Slot and binding read from the current retail build’s item records for this set’s own pieces.

2 of this set's 14 pieces drop from 2 encounters in Karazhan and The Steamvault. The rest come from vendors, quests, crafting or world drops, which the dungeon journal does not record.

• Shade of Aran - Karazhan - Steelspine Faceguard
• Warlord Kalithresh - The Steamvault - Amber Bands of the AggressorNormalHeroic

Drop chances are not stored in the client data we mine, so none are shown here.

Ensemble: Goldspine Plate is a single item whose use effect learns all of Goldspine Plate at once. It is Bind on Pickup.

2 bosses in Karazhan and The Steamvault drop pieces of this set. Each instance below carries its Adventure Guide entry, where its entrance is, and what each boss drops.

Karazhan

The entrance is in Dalaran at 46.6, 46.4 (/way #41 46.6 46.4).

Karazhan entrance

• Shade of Aran drops 1 piece of this set (Head). Adventure Guide map pin: 71.6, 26.0 on the Karazhan map.

The Steamvault

Coilfang Reservoir is the name for a naga-dominated compound that lurks under Zangarmarsh's deepest waters. The reservoir, punctured throughout by massive open pipes and pistons, seems big enough to house armies - and, yet, its purpose isn't strictly military.

The entrance is in Zangarmarsh at 50.2, 33.3 (/way #102 50.2 33.3).

The Steamvault entrance

• Warlord Kalithresh drops 1 piece of this set (Wrist) on Normal and Heroic. Adventure Guide map pin: 76.0, 43.6 on the The Steamvault map. Deep within the Steamvault, the naga have begun experimenting with a mysterious substance to strengthen their warriors and purge them of fear. Kalithresh was one of Lady Vashj's first servants to volunteer as a test subject for this dark elixir. As reward, he has been charged with guarding the expansive Steamvault and ensuring the region's arcane machinery operates without interruption.

3 pieces share their appearance with items outside this set, each with its own collection source:

• Steelspine Faceguard uses the same appearance as Faceguard of the Endless Watch.
• Faceguard of the Endless Watch uses the same appearance as Faceguard of the Endless Watch.
• Goldspine Helm uses the same appearance as Faceguard of the Endless Watch.

1 other set reuses the 3D models of Goldspine Plate’s head and shoulder, most shared models first:

• Battlegear of Might (Classic, 22 pieces): the same head and shoulder models, recoloured.

Matched in the game files: each piece’s ItemDisplayInfo names its 3D model and texture. The same model with another texture is a recolour. Only pieces with a 3D model of their own (helms, shoulders, cloaks, weapons, shields, off-hands and some belts and robes) can be compared this way; pieces drawn from textures alone are left out.

3 pieces of Goldspine Plate can be listed on the Auction House (they do not bind on pickup); 3 have a listing on US connected realms in our latest scan.

Lowest listed price on any US connected realm in our recorded Auction House scan, per piece; transmog gear is priced per realm, so the realm named is where that price was seen.

Sets from the same content batch with the same class restriction.
