Overview
Razorfen Kraul is the warren of the quillboar, grown from the thorns of the demigod Agamaggan. The quillboar breed boars and war beasts in the tunnels and worship the thorns. The dungeon is a maze of vine-walled paths between open pens, with quillboar casters, archers and handlers in every group.
The difficulty here is the pulls. Quillboar packs mix melee, healers and casters, and they come with boars that hit hard and run fast. Many packs are close together on the vine paths, and archers on the ridges can pull a second group into a fight you thought was clean. It rewards a tank who pulls back around corners and a group that kills the healers first.
In WoW Forever the Dungeon Finder row starts at level 24, one step below Gnomeregan. The October 1 notes list Razorfen Kraul among the beta's open dungeons. With the beta capped at 30, it is one of the last dungeons a beta character can finish at level, and the quest rewards matter more than the boss drops.
Clear order
- Start Willix the Importer's escort when you reach him; he walks out to the entrance while you guard him.
- The beta client lists the encounters as Roogug, Aggem Thorncurse, Death Speaker Jargba, Overlord Ramtusk, Agathelos the Raging and Charlga Razorflank. Many groups meet Aggem first; the paths allow either.
- Overlord Ramtusk holds a large open area with many quillboar around him; clear it in small pulls.
- Agathelos the Raging is in the boar pens behind his Ward Guardians. Charlga Razorflank waits at the end in her hut.
- Two Classic Era rares, Earthcaller Halmgar and the Blind Hunter, do not always appear. Kill them if you meet them.
Group and preparation
- Kill quillboar healers and casters first in every pack. A pack whose healer lives takes twice as long.
- Polymorph and Sap work on quillboar; Hibernate and Scare Beast work on the boars. Use both.
- Bring a hunter or a warlock for Fear and pets if you can; the long open pens are good for kiting a loose boar.
- Watch for archers on the high ledges. Pull them down to you instead of walking under them.
- Rest between pulls. Quillboar packs come close together here, and a group that pulls with half mana meets the next pack with none.
- For the Blueleaf Tubers quest, use the Crate with Holes on a Snufflenose Gopher outside, then command it to dig up tubers as you go. Do it during the run, not after.
What changed in WoW Forever
- The beta client gives the Razorfen Kraul Dungeon Finder row a minimum level of 24; the Classic Era client (1.15.9.70003) leaves that row without a level. [BETA-OBSERVED]
- No instance-specific change found in the beta client data as of build 1.60.1.70170: same encounter ids, names and order as Classic Era. Blizzard's notes so far do not name a change to this dungeon's bosses. [BETA-OBSERVED]
Forever rules that apply to every dungeon
- Dungeon mob XP was cut and dungeon quest XP raised; the October 1 notes then cut the extra dungeon quest XP by 50%. Do the quests. [REPORTED][OFFICIAL]
- Dungeon boss unique drops are now blue, and BoP green and blue appearances go to every eligible looter. [OFFICIAL]
- Blizzard says ordinary mobs take about 10 to 15 seconds to kill and crowd control still matters in dungeons. [OFFICIAL]
Quests
Classic Era quests for this dungeon
Classic Era quests for this dungeon that are not in our beta cache yet. Forever has over 1,000 new quests and has changed dungeon quest XP, so treat this as the Classic baseline until each one shows up in the beta cache. [CLASSIC ERA]
| Quest | Start | Side | What you do |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blueleaf Tubers | Mebok Mizzyrix, Ratchet | Both | Use a Snufflenose Gopher to dig up Blueleaf Tubers in the Kraul. |
| Willix the Importer | Willix the Importer, inside the Kraul | Both | Escort Willix out of the Kraul. |
| Going, Going, Guano! | Master Apothecary Faranell, Undercity | Horde | Collect Kraul Guano from the bats. |
| A Vengeful Fate | Auld Stonespire, Thunder Bluff | Horde | Kill Charlga Razorflank and bring back her heart. |
| The Crone of the Kraul | Falfindel Waywarder, Thalanaar (Feralas border) | Alliance | Bring back Charlga Razorflank's medallion. |
| Mortality Wanes | Heralath Fallowbrook, inside the Kraul | Alliance | Recover a lost pendant for him. |
The Willix escort is easy if the paths are clear: Willix walks out the way you came in and stops to talk, and quillboar that respawned or were skipped attack him on the way. Do the escort as soon as you find him, while the path behind you is still clean, and keep the tank next to him.
Blueleaf Tubers and Willix are the two quests to start from inside or just outside the dungeon. Both factions can do them, and both are worth doing on the same run as the bosses.
Notable trash
Classic Era mechanics; Forever beta unconfirmed. [CLASSIC ERA]
| Mob | What it does and how to handle it |
|---|---|
| Razorfen Geomancer | Caster that throws earth and nature spells from the back of the pack. Interrupt and kill first. |
| Death's Head Acolyte | Cult healer. Interrupt the heal or crowd control it. |
| Razorfen Warrior and Defender | Melee quillboar. Fine on the tank. |
| Razorfen Quilguard | A sturdier quillboar guard near bosses. |
| Razorfen Beast Trainer | Comes with a boar. Kill the trainer and the boar fights on, so tank both. |
| Kraul Bat | Bats in the tunnels; Kraul Guano drops from them for the Undercity quest. |
| Boars and war beasts | Fast and hard-hitting in the open pens. Scare Beast or Hibernate one in big pulls. |
Roogug: strategy
Encounter 1 of 6 in the beta client. Classic Era mechanics; Forever beta unconfirmed. [CLASSIC ERA]
A quillboar shaman who fights with a Death's Head Seer and summons a Stone Rumbler, an earth elemental.
Abilities
| Ability | What it does | Answer |
|---|---|---|
| Summon Stone Rumbler | An earth elemental joins the fight. | The tank picks it up; kill it after the Seer. |
| Death's Head Seer | A quillboar caster at his side. | Interrupt and kill it first. |
Tactics
Pull the quillboar near him first, one group at a time. When you pull Roogug, pull him around a corner so he and the Seer walk into melee and cast less. Kill the Seer, then the Rumbler or Roogug depending on who is hurting the healer. He is the softest boss here once his helpers are down.
- Tank: Line-of-sight pull; grab the Rumbler the moment it appears.
- Healer: Stay out of sight until the pack is bunched on the tank.
- DPS: Seer first, then the elemental, then Roogug.
Aggem Thorncurse: strategy
Encounter 2 of 6 in the beta client. Classic Era mechanics; Forever beta unconfirmed. [CLASSIC ERA]
A quillboar beast master who keeps calling boar spirits during the fight.
Abilities
| Ability | What it does | Answer |
|---|---|---|
| Summon Boar Spirit | Calls spirit boars to fight for him, again and again. | Tank them with him, or burn Aggem so the summons stop. |
Tactics
The longer the fight, the more spirits. Clear everything near him so the group can open on him at once, and burn him. If spirits stack up on the healer, the tank grabs them with area threat and the group stays on Aggem.
- Tank: Grab each spirit boar the moment it appears.
- Healer: Spirits add burst on the tank; be ready for it.
- DPS: Stay on Aggem; killing him ends the summons.
Death Speaker Jargba: strategy
Encounter 3 of 6 in the beta client. Classic Era mechanics; Forever beta unconfirmed. [CLASSIC ERA]
A quillboar shadow caster with a Death's Head Acolyte and a Razorfen Groundshaker beside him.
Abilities
| Ability | What it does | Answer |
|---|---|---|
| Dominate Mind | Takes control of a player, who then attacks the group. | Do not kill the controlled player. Crowd control them, or burn Jargba to end it. |
| Shadow Bolt | Shadow damage on a player. | Interrupt when possible. |
Tactics
Three mobs at the pull. Polymorph or Sap the Groundshaker, kill the Acolyte, then Jargba. Mind control is the fight: when Jargba takes a player, the group keeps damaging him, and someone stuns or sheeps the controlled player if they are hurting the healer. A mind-controlled healer heals Jargba, so interrupt them too. Keep the fight short.
- Tank: Stay on Jargba; he is the only way to end the mind control fast.
- Healer: If the tank is controlled, heal whoever has Jargba's attention.
- DPS: Keep hitting Jargba. Only a ranged player with crowd control turns to the controlled player.
Overlord Ramtusk: strategy
Encounter 4 of 6 in the beta client. Classic Era mechanics; Forever beta unconfirmed. [CLASSIC ERA]
A quillboar warlord with two Razorfen Spearhides, in a large open area with many quillboar around him.
Tactics
Clear the area around him patiently; this is the biggest trash section of the run. Then pull him with his two Spearhides. Crowd control one Spearhide, kill the other, then Ramtusk. He is a heavy melee fighter and nothing more, so the fight is a tank check, not a mechanics check.
- Tank: Pull him out of the open area toward the path you came from.
- Healer: Three melee on the tank at the start; ask for the crowd control before the pull.
- DPS: Spearhide first, then Ramtusk.
Agathelos the Raging: strategy
Encounter 5 of 6 in the beta client. Classic Era mechanics; Forever beta unconfirmed. [CLASSIC ERA]
A huge boar guarded by a Death's Head Seer and two Ward Guardians, which must die before you reach him.
Tactics
Kill the Seer and the two Ward Guardians first; they stand between you and the boar. Clear the boars in his pen; Scare Beast and Hibernate help with those. Then tank Agathelos against the vines so he cannot be dragged into a new pack. He hits harder than anything else in the Kraul, so healers keep their best heals for the tank and damage dealers wait for threat.
- Tank: Defensive cooldown early; he does not let up.
- Healer: Pure tank healing; stay well back.
- DPS: Behind him, and only after the tank's lead.
Charlga Razorflank: strategy
Encounter 6 of 6 in the beta client. Classic Era mechanics; Forever beta unconfirmed. [CLASSIC ERA]
The Crone of the Kraul, a quillboar priestess at the end. She teleports back to her hut during the fight.
Tactics
Kill or control her guards first. Then pull her out of her hut so she comes into melee. When she teleports back to her hut, the tank follows at once and picks her up again; the group re-positions with the tank rather than chasing on their own. She is a caster and a healer, so interrupt what she casts. Her death completes the Crone of the Kraul and A Vengeful Fate.
- Tank: Follow her teleport immediately.
- Healer: Move with the tank so you stay in range.
- DPS: Interrupt her casts; do not run into the hut ahead of the tank.
Compared with Classic Era
- Razorfen Kraul Dungeon Finder level: 0 in Era, 24 in Forever.

Sources and method
Written and checked by TheWoWDB on October 5, 2026. Abilities and tactics describe how these fights work in Classic Era; the WoW Forever beta can change any of them, and Blizzard has said boss loot and stats were reworked. Nothing here is a drop rate or a timing we measured. Loot rows come from the Adventure Guide match further down the page; the beta client cannot say how often anything drops.
