WoW Forever Warrior Guide
The Warrior got one of Blizzard's two published class deep dives, and it is one of the most reworked classes in the beta. Rage generation was rebuilt, two utility spells became baseline, and Fury and Protection were reshuffled again in the October 1 notes.
Checked on October 5, 2026 against the World of Warcraft: Forever beta client, build 1.60.1.70205. The beta runs to October 21, 2026 and is capped at level 30; Forever launches on November 4, 2026. [Blizzard, September 12, 2026] Everything below is marked as either a Blizzard statement (with a dated link) or our own read of the beta client (with its build number).

What changed for the Warrior in Forever
Blizzard covered the Warrior in its Class Deep Dive on September 30, 2026, and the beta development notes have changed it since. Each line links to its source.
- Tactical Mastery is baseline at level 14: you keep 10 Rage when you change stances. The Arms talent Improved Tactical Mastery adds 3 more per point, up to 25. [Blizzard, September 30, 2026]
- Victory Rush is baseline at level 20. It is an instant attack on a 30 second cooldown that scales with Attack Power and heals you for 10% of your maximum health, usable for 20 seconds after you kill a non-trivial enemy. [Blizzard, September 30, 2026]
- Recklessness, Shield Wall and Retaliation no longer share a cooldown. Shield Wall and Retaliation drop to 15 minutes. [Blizzard, September 30, 2026]
- Rage from damage taken ignores your armor and absorb effects, so Power Word: Shield no longer costs you Rage. Rage from damage dealt depends on weapon speed. [Blizzard, September 30, 2026]
- Critical strikes give extra Rage. The deep dive said 75% more; the October 1 notes raised it to 100%. [Blizzard blue post, October 1, 2026]
- Rend and Thunder Clap now scale strongly with Attack Power. Thunder Clap works in Defensive Stance and its cooldown went up to 6 seconds. [Blizzard, September 30, 2026]
- Sunder Armor works even when a stronger Expose Armor is on the target, and its threat scales with Attack Power. [Blizzard, September 30, 2026]
- Rend and Sunder Armor now tap the enemy to you right away. [Blizzard blue post, October 1, 2026]
- Battle Shout gives less Attack Power, because both factions now have both Shaman and Paladin buffs. [Blizzard, September 30, 2026]
- Weaponmaster replaces Axe, Mace, Sword and Polearm Specialization. Axes and polearms give critical strike chance, maces and staves ignore some armor, swords can grant an extra swing. [Blizzard, September 30, 2026]
- Spearing Strike is the Arms 16-point talent: 15 Rage, 20 second cooldown, dismounts the target and hits harder against mounted targets, Dragonkin and Giants. Since October 1 it needs Battle Stance instead of a two-handed weapon. [Blizzard blue post, October 1, 2026]
- Slam's cooldown went up to 18 seconds (was 15). Improved Slam takes 1.5 or 3 seconds off it. [Blizzard blue post, September 24, 2026]
- Bloodthrill procs more often (4 to 20%, was 2 to 10%) and only from main-hand attacks. [Blizzard blue post, September 24, 2026]
- Bloodthirst no longer heals. It gives 10% movement speed for 10 seconds instead. On October 1 its Attack Power ratio went up to 45% (was 35%). [Blizzard blue post, October 1, 2026]
- Fury on October 1: new talents Lingering Rage, Furious Precision and Gore Drinker; Improved Cleave and Boundless Rage removed; Blood Craze no longer procs from Bloodthirst; Death Wish now gates Flurry; Berserker Rage is learned at 30 (was 32). [Blizzard blue post, October 1, 2026]
- Protection on October 1: Toughness removed, Iron Will moved into Protection, and Improved Bloodrage, Anticipation, Improved Revenge, Improved Disarm and Improved Shield Bash moved rows. [Blizzard blue post, October 1, 2026]
- Removed in the deep dive: Improved Demoralizing Shout and Improved Battle Shout (Fury), and Improved Shield Block, Improved Taunt and One-Handed Weapon Specialization (Protection). [Blizzard, September 30, 2026]
What the beta client shows
Our own read of the client tables. Blizzard has not posted these, so treat them as beta data that can change.
- The newest client we hold (build 70205) still has the pre-October 1 Fury and Protection trees: Improved Cleave, Boundless Rage and Toughness are there, Iron Will sits in Fury, and Lingering Rage, Furious Precision and Gore Drinker are missing. The talent text still says Bloodthirst uses 35% of Attack Power. Treat the October 1 notes as the newer truth until a client build catches up.
- Slam is now trained at level 20 with five ranks; in Classic Era it came at 30 with four.
- Revenge Stun is gone from the class list, which matches the redesigned Improved Revenge (more damage instead of a stun chance).
Warrior talent trees in the beta
The Warrior has three trees and 51 talent points at level 60, one per level from 10. Each tree opens a new row every 5 points. The 1-point picks behind the 10, 15, 20 and 30 point gates are the milestones Blizzard talks about: the 11, 16, 21 and 31 point talents. [Blizzard, September 30, 2026] The text below is the client's own tooltip at full rank, from build 1.60.1.70205. Plan a build in the Warrior talent calculator.
Arms
The two-handed weapon tree. Its milestones are Anger Management, the new Spearing Strike, Sweeping Strikes and Mortal Strike, and the four old weapon specializations are folded into one talent, Weaponmaster. The tree has 17 talents worth 47 ranks; the first row is Improved Heroic Strike, Deflection, Improved Rend.
| Point | Milestone talent | What it does (client text) |
|---|---|---|
| 11 | Generates 1 Rage every 3 sec while in combat, and reduces Rage loss while out of combat by 30%. | |
| 16 | A brutal attack that deals 40% weapon damage, plus an additional 80% weapon damage against Giants, Dragonkin, and mounted targets. | |
| 21 | Your next 5 melee attacks strike an additional nearby opponent. | |
| 31 | A vicious strike that deals weapon damage plus 85 and wounds the target, reducing the effectiveness of any healing by 50% for 10 sec. |
Fury
The dual-wield damage tree. Its milestones are Piercing Howl, the new Raging Blows (Whirlwind strikes with both weapons), Death Wish and Bloodthirst. The tree has 18 talents worth 57 ranks; the first row is Booming Voice, Cruelty.
| Point | Milestone talent | What it does (client text) |
|---|---|---|
| 11 | Causes all nearby enemies to be Dazed, reducing movement speed by 50% for 6 sec. | |
| 16 | Causes your Whirlwind to also strike with your Off Hand weapon, and reduces the Rage cost of your Cleave ability by 2. | |
| 21 | When activated, increases your Physical damage done by 20% and makes you immune to Fear effects, but increases all damage you take by 5%. Lasts 30 sec. | |
| 31 | Instantly attack the target causing damage equal to 35% of your Attack Power plus 30 and increasing your movement speed by 10% for 10 sec. |
Protection
The shield tank tree. Its milestones are Last Stand, the new Vanguard (Charge in Defensive Stance), Concussion Blow and Shield Slam. The tree has 18 talents worth 50 ranks; the first row is Shield Specialization, Anticipation.
| Point | Milestone talent | What it does (client text) |
|---|---|---|
| 11 | When activated, this ability temporarily grants you 30% of your maximum health for 20 sec. After the effect expires, the health is lost. | |
| 16 | Your Charge ability is now usable while in Defensive Stance. | |
| 21 | Stuns the target for 5 sec. | |
| 31 | Slam the target with your shield, causing 430 damage, increased by your Block Value, and has a 50% chance of dispelling 1 magic effect on the target. Causes a very high amount of threat. |
Changed between beta builds
We hold 5 snapshots of the Warrior trees (70009, 70058, 70124, 70170, 70205). These are the differences, oldest first. Wording-only fixes are left out.
- 70124 to 70170: Dual Wield Specialization (Fury) changed from "Increases your off-hand weapon damage by 25%, off-hand Rage generation by 100%, and chance to hit with off-hand attacks by 10%." to "Increases your off-hand weapon damage by 25% and chance to hit with off-hand attacks by 10%.".
Changes for every class
These apply to every class, so they change how you play a Warrior too.
- Talents open at level 10 and use the same number of rows as Classic. The 1-point milestone talents at 11, 21 and 31 points in a tree are joined by a new 16-point milestone. [Blizzard, September 30, 2026]
- Dual Specialization unlocks at level 40. Talents, including Legacy talents, are changed at a class trainer in a major city. [Blizzard, September 30, 2026]
- Talents that used to hand out a key group buff are now baseline: Divine Spirit (Priest), Blessing of Kings (Paladin) and Improved Mark of the Wild (Druid). [Blizzard, September 13, 2026]
- Spell, melee and ranged hit chance are one stat now, and so are spell, melee and ranged critical strike chance. [Blizzard, September 13, 2026]
- Bonus healing also gives one third as much bonus damage, so healers are not stuck when questing. [Blizzard, September 13, 2026]
- Weapon skill works as before, but items give less of it per item. Some items add a new stat that lowers the chance for your attacks to be dodged or parried, and caster weapons carry spell damage and healing. [Blizzard, September 13, 2026]
- Riding follows the Burning Crusade model: the cost moves into riding training and you get a mount when you learn the skill. [Blizzard, September 13, 2026]
- Each race now has two active and two passive racial abilities, tuned to give a similar amount of offensive power. [Blizzard, September 13, 2026]
Warrior spells by level, 1 to 30
Every Warrior spell rank the beta client (1.60.1.70205) lists from level 1 to 30, the level cap of the beta. Read from the client's SkillLineAbility and SpellLevels tables on the class skill lines. Spells marked talent need the talent first; the level is the level the client requires. Training costs are set on the server and are not in the client.
Warrior spells changed from Classic Era
The beta class spell list (1.60.1.70205) compared with Classic Era (1.15.9.70003), levels 2 to 60, matched by spell name. A renamed spell shows up once as removed and once as new. Passive form auras and helper records are left out.

Races that can be a Warrior
The beta client (1.60.1.70170) allows 10 races to be a Warrior. "New" means the pair is not in the Classic Era client (1.15.9.69722). Blizzard can still switch a pair off on its servers. All pairs are on the races and classes page.
| Race | Faction | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Human | Alliance | Also in Classic Era |
| Orc | Horde | Also in Classic Era |
| Dwarf | Alliance | Also in Classic Era |
| Night Elf | Alliance | Also in Classic Era |

Racial notes from Blizzard
Every race has two active and two passive racials in Forever. [Blizzard, September 13, 2026] Blizzard has described these so far:
- Dwarf: Stoneform focuses on removing and blocking Bleeds, Poisons and Diseases, and its defensive bonus now lowers physical damage taken. Find Treasure can stay on with other tracking. Mace Specialization raises critical strike chance with all spells and abilities while a mace is equipped. Big Game Hunter adds damage against Beasts. [Blizzard, September 13, 2026]
- Gnome: Eureka became a 10% discount on Mana, Rage or Energy abilities. [Blizzard blue post, September 24, 2026]
- Gnome: Eureka no longer applies to periodic effects; channeled spells do not count as periodic. [Blizzard blue post, October 1, 2026]
- Human: Will to Survive got a new visual, matching Dispel Magic. [Blizzard blue post, September 24, 2026]
- Undead: Will of the Forsaken still removes Charm, Fear and Sleep but no longer grants immunity. Cannibalize restores Mana as well as Health. Touch of the Grave is a new damage racial. [Blizzard, September 13, 2026]
- Undead: Touch of the Grave no longer breaks crowd control and no longer fires from spells without a damage part. [Blizzard blue post, September 24, 2026]
- Undead: Cannibalize cannot be used while you are immune to Physical damage. [Blizzard blue post, October 1, 2026]
Not known yet
We do not publish guesses. These wait for launch or for Blizzard to say more:
- Stat priorities. Itemization is still moving in the beta, and Blizzard has posted no stat weights.
- Best in slot lists. The two new raids in the client (Hyjal Summit and Barrow Deeps) have encounter names but no loot data yet.
- Raid roles and group makeup at 60. The beta stops at level 30.
- Training costs. Trainer prices are set on the server and are not in the client files.
- Whether Fury or Arms is the stronger leveling tree once the October 1 Fury changes reach the client.
