Call of the Crusade - Guild Edition

We went in to do this guild achievement last weekend - after having tried unsuccessfully shortly after most had dinged 85. You are all right, that the fight becomes incredibly much harder at level 85 because of our largely increased health pools in combination with the Leeching Swarm that Anub does in the third phase.

What we ended up doing was go in with only a few level 85s: MT, 2 healers and 2 dps - rest were level 80-81. We went and nuked him in the first phase, killing only the first wave of big adds, then forcing him to skip second phase - going straight into the last phase.

In the last phase we all ignored the adds, kept the raiders around 10% health (popped damage mitigation abilities rather than health increasing stuff) - healed the tanks and down he went.

I belive we wiped a couple of times figuring out how to do it - but once we sorted the skipping second phase, blowing Heroism in the beginning, and then popping mitigation abilities and damage increase stuff in the last phase, he had to crawl it up - and we could walk out of there with another pretty Guild Achievement off the checklist.

any tips, he heals for 10% of everyone in raid, and at 85% thats ALOT of healing to beat, keeping everyone super low was only so effective

Did this last night, he doesn't burrow until about 75 seconds, so if you have a group that is able to defeat halfus, you can do this. We used 2 tanks and 1 healer, with a shadow priest to heal the "important group" via VE. Have a tank with a shield tank the adds, any tank for the boss, blow all CD's after p3 begins, then you should have it. Healer should only focus on healing the tanks at this point.
