Deadmines, Battle pet dungeon how to:

Stage 1:
1st Encounter Boss [npc=119409] with 50% damage reduction and a maximum of 35% of its total HP taken per hit. With no backline pets.
Type: Mechanical. Soloable by an Elemental pet like [npc=62621] using [pet-ability=113], [pet-ability=178], [pet-ability=179].
Notes: This boss is using [pet-ability=923], so use one more elemental pet as backup and one pet that you are not gonna use further in this dungeon.

Stage 2:
2nd Encounter [npc=119346] with 50% damage reduction and 2 backline pets of common quality from Aquatic, Flying or Critter family.
Type: Undead. Soloable by a [npc=61080] or any other pet from its family using [pet-ability=360], [pet-ability=312], [pet-ability=159].
Notes: Nothing special about this pet to mention.

3rd Encounter [npc=119342] with 50% damage reduction and 2 backline pets of common quality from Aquatic, Flying or Critter family.
Type: Elemental. Soloable by an Aquatic pet like [npc=65203] using [pet-ability=509], [pet-ability=123], [pet-ability=310].
Notes: This pet has [pet-ability=436] & [pet-ability=569] abilities and this fight may take a bit more time to win.

Stage 3:
4th Encounter [npc=119341] with 50% damage reduction and 2 backline pets of common quality from Aquatic, Flying or Critter family.
Type: Beast. Soloable by [npc=77221], with the usual combo.
Notes: Nothing special about this pet to mention.

Stage 4:
5th Encounter Boss "Captain" Klutz with 50% damage reduction and a maximum of 35% of its total HP taken per hit. With no backline pets.
Type: Humanoid. For this fight you will need 2 pets. You can use the combo of [npc=71163] with [pet-ability=652] & [npc=69796] with [pet-ability=919]
& [pet-ability=921] to win, or you can try any other combo like [pet-ability=321] & [npc=34770]'s [pet-ability=1093], which is not that strong.
Notes: This boss is using [pet-ability=350] to stun your pet and [pet-ability=1012] to heal, making this fight the hardest one in the scenario.

Stage 5:
6th Encounter [npc=119343] with 50% damage reduction and 2 backline pets of common quality from Aquatic, Flying or Critter family.
Type: Critter. Soloable by [npc=71942] with [pet-ability=595] & [pet-ability=974], or [pet-ability=536] & [pet-ability=110].
Notes: Beware of its ability [pet-ability=293] witch is a strong attack vs Beasts. it may not end up well for your pet. Killing this pet as soon as possible will ensure the win.

7th Encounter [npc=119345] with 50% damage reduction and 2 backline pets of common quality from Aquatic, Flying or Critter family.
Type: Beast. Soloable by a lot of Mechanical pets like [npc=80329], [npc=48609], [npc=61160], [npc=115140] and many others.
Notes: Nothing special about this pet to mention.

8th Encounter [npc=119344] with 50% damage reduction and 2 backline pets of common quality from Aquatic, Flying or Critter family.
Type: Flying. Soloable by [npc=68845] with [pet-ability=589] & [pet-ability=489] combo.
Notes: Nothing special about this pet to mention.

Final Stage:
9th Encounter Boss Cookie's Leftovers with 50% damage reduction and a maximum of 35% of its total HP taken per hit. With no backline pets.
Type: Magic: Soloable by a [npc=64899] with [pet-ability=115], [pet-ability=779] and [pet-ability=334]. [pet-ability=779] does the most damage on him, so use it on cooldown.
Notes: This boss is using [pet-ability=580] to sleep your pet and [pet-ability=1016] to heal itself. Avoid sleep by starting the fight with [pet-ability=334].

Good luck and have fun. May the battles begin!

No one seems to have pointed out this perhaps very obvious truth: Don't physically travel to The Deadmines! I just spent 20 minutes clearing out the dungeon without any sign of a pet battle.

Click on the Bagman a second time and he'll teleport you there...

I just completed this on live so I'll give a rundown of what I used for anyone that might be struggling. All in all this challenge was much easier than the Wailing Caverns was for me.

I used 13 unique pets. Most of which are easily obtained. A few are harder to obtain, but I'll offer replacements for those if I can think of any.

Pets will be listed by name, order in party, and skill set (ex: 1,1,1 would be the first skill in their drop down in all options). If an X is listed it means that pet never came out in the battle so you can fill it with any other pet. If you see a pets name twice that means it survived its last fight with enough health to go into the next fight. I didn't use any duplicates.

Fight 1: Foe Reaper
Pets: Broot [2,2,2], x, x --- (Alternative: Fel Flame [1,1,1], x, x)

Fight 2: Undead Defias (and crew)
Pets: Broot [2,2,2], x, x --- (Alternative 1: Elfin Rabbit [2,2,2], Grassland Hopper [1,2,2], x) --- (Alternative 2: Fel Flame [1,1,1], Pheonix Hatchling [2,2,2], Anubisath Idol [1,2,2])

Fight 3: Elemental (and crew)
Pets: Panadaren Water Spirit [1,2,1], Fen Crab [1,1,2], x --- (Alternative: Fen Crab [1,1,2], Left Shark [2,1,1], x)

Fight 4: Monkey (and crew)
Pets: Clockwork Gnome [1,1,1], Fen Crab [1,1,2], x

Fight 5: Epic Humanoid
Pets: Unborn Val'kyr [1,2,1], Zandalari Anklerender [2,1,2], x
Notes: My rotation for this was Unborn Val'kyr used Curse of Doom then Haunt. Shift into Zandalari Anklerender who uses Black Claw then Hunting Party.

Fight 6: Rat (and crew)
Pets: Xu-fu, Cub of Xuen [2,1,2], Fiendish Imp [1,2,2], x
Notes: I didn't test it but you should be able to switch out Xu-fu with any other pet that has Beast damage and a heal or a dodge.

Fight 7: Monkey (and crew)
Pets: Unborn Val'kyr [1,2,1], Zandalari Anklerender [2,1,2], Horned Lizard [1,2,2]
Notes: I recycled Unborn Val'kyr and Zandalari Anklerender since both still had high enough life. Same tactic as with fight 5 with Horned Lizard for cleanup. While not tested you could use a generic Mechanical team for this if you don't have Unborn Val'kyr

Fight 8: Bird (and crew)
Pets: Unborn Val'kyr [1,2,1], Kirin Tor Familiar [2,2,1], Emerald Proto-Whelp [1,2,2]
Notes: Unborn Val'kyr did a lot of work. This is her last fight. Use the same tactic as fight 5; use Doom then use Haunt. Send in Kirin Tor Familiar (or any generic magic pet) and finish the bird off. Once Kirin Tor Familiar dies, since Unborn Val'kyr back in. Let her die fighting. Send in Emerald for the cleanup.

Fight 9: Cookie's Leftovers
Pets: Nether Faerie Dragon [1,2,1], Onyxian Whelpling, x
Notes: Let Nether Faerie Dragon get as low as you can, Life Exchange, then let her die. Switch in Whelping (any Dragonoid with Fly will do) for the finish. For imaginary bonus points fly when Cookie's Leftovers tries to stun you.

That's it. Enjoy the win!
