Pinky

I believe this is the version of Pinky that exists for the quest "A Good Spanking". This version is tameable, unlike the version found in the cave.

This version of 'Pinky' is tameable. Your direhorn is pretty good at tanking, which obviously affects Tame Beast.

However, it's simply a case hitting Pinky a few times to generate "some" aggro and then casting Primal Rage a few seconds before you dismiss your pet and the Juvenile Direhorn dies. Tame away.

If you take too long it's likely the direhorn will respawn and re-aggro Pinky immediately.

This might be achievable without Primal Rage (or similar abilities) but the timing is more luck than anything based on when the direhorn respawns!

To tame Pinky I found I had to land on top of one of the taller gate posts with the flaming torches, in shooting range of Pinky, but also ensure that my Juvenile Direhorn companion followed me to the top of the post, and hence couldn't find a path to attack. I then shot at Pinky and stole aggro from the other NPCs. However, I found that if I remained on the flaming post then it gave me a "line of sight" error at the last second of the tame. To correct this I carefully stepped sideways over the top of the lower fence and Pinky followed me but the direhorn stayed behind. For the first few steps I remained up in the air, but eventually I fell and landed on top of the fence, while Juvenile Direhorn remained up on the gate post. I could then tame Pinky without interruption. It's tricky but it worked for me. He currently doesn't retain his name after taming.

Update for taming: Pinky NOW retains the name :) Feb 2022 just tamed n verified.
