Wow. This is the night elf dialogue for the quest... really, really sad. I felt so so so bad doing this.. anyways, here is what she says.
Come to finish the job, have you?
I'd like to stand for...
<name>?
<name>, I'd recognize that face anywhere... What... What have they done to you <name>?
You don't remember me? when you were a child your mother would leave you in my care while she served at the Temple of the Moon. I held you in my arms an fed you with honey and sheep's milk to calm you until she would return. You were my little angel. Blasted Scourge... What have they done to you, <name>?
You must remember the splendor of life, brother. You were a champion of the Kaldorei once! This isn't you!
Listen to me, <name>. You must fight against the Lich King's control. He is a monster that wants to see this world - our world - in ruin. Don't let him use you to accomplish his goals. You were once a hero and you can be again. Fight, damn you! Fight his control!
Knight Commander Plaguefist yells: What's going on in there? What's taking so long, <name>?
There... There's no more time for me. I'm done for. Finish me off, <name>. Do it or they'll kill us both. <name>... Remember Teldrassil, our beloved home. This world is worth saving.
Do it, <name>! Put me out of my misery!

Easily the most sad of all the races quest. You're hulking out and being hardcore because you're a Death Knight, and then this quest rolls around and kills your buzz. Damnit blizz, I'm not supposed to feel guilt in a video game!
This quest (and the others for the other races) are supposed to give you somewhat of a "history" of who your character was before he/she became a Death Knight. The idea is, you were a hero of the Horde/Alliance who went to Northrend, fell to the Scourge, and were raised as a Death Knight. There are items (and NPC's) around Acherus that give you some idea of the process. In particular there is a book that lists "potential" DK's (with your name on the last page), and there is one that says "This one still retains some memory" or something like that. The idea is they wipe your memory and personality and turn you into a Scourge killing machine. This quest merely reinforces it, which makes it all the more sad once you actually get your "soul" returned to you at the end of the quest line. And if you think about it, the NPC in this quest sacrifices himself/herself to save you, despite what you've become. "Finish me off, or they'll kill us both!" Sad yes, but necessary for lore. I personally think this quest is epic.

Description
We got here, tore the place apart, and headed toward the prison house. We weren't expecting what we found in there, {name}. Seems the Crusade's been real busy. That whole thing is full of Argent Dawn prisoners. Most of them were already dead by the time we arrived, but a few were still breathing. I was about to go in there and execute the rest of them, but I think you should have the honors. In particular, there's a real feisty night elf in there that I think you'll take great pleasure in executing.
