TheWoWDBSo found out just now; Even if you killed Caustic Mechaslime and received 'meaningful loot' and the silver dragon is no longer around it's portrait, you CAN continue to kill him (around 3 times per collapse total), and have a chance to get the blueprint. I killed him three times and on the third I got the blueprint! I wasn't aware of this, and was just killing the smaller slimes to farm spare parts and happened to kill it repeatedly in the process. Surprised me when it popped up, but not disappointed in the slightest!
