The Azure Water Strider cannot walk on water while on the Cerulean Lagoon.
While this may seem like a bug, remember: "This mount walks on water in non-battleground areas until damage is taken."
So before turning the lash on your Water Strider, be considerate: it's just choking in agony on the lagoon's poisonous mist!
If you have a pet, place it on passive or dismiss it for this quest.
If your pet attacks, you will not get the healing buff.
