Crest Transmutation (Level 90)

Crest Transmutation is a quest for level 90, added in Midnight. It is step 2 of 4 in the Item Upgrade Tutorial storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Silvermoon City at 48.6, 62.1. It rewards 13,700 experience and money.

Description

Did you know that crests can be transmuted into different tiers?

If you find yourself with crests that are too powerful for the gear you've acquired, I can help you transmute those crests into lower tiers that you can use.

And once all of your gear is sufficiently powerful, I'll be able to transmute your spare lower crests into higher ones!

Let's practice the transmutation process. Here's a few Veteran Dawncrests. Speak to me and I can transform them into Adventurer Dawncrests for you.

uhm, previous iterations of this quest refunded you the higher-tier crests spent, but that doesn't seem to be the case here... However, you do receive [currency=3341 amount=10] Veteran Dawncrests when accepting this quest for the first time.

We gotta stop sharing GM replies. The people that answer tickets are the equivalent of Level 1 Support, trained just enough to help with basic/common problems, often just reading from a checklist. Unless they already got info from higher up about new issues, they won't be able to give you a satisfying answer or even help you.

Before this quest

  • Crests of the DawnLevel 90

Using what I've learned from Silvermoon's artisans, Cuzolth and I can infuse your gear with additional power! Powerful equipment requires Dawncrests to upgrade it to its full potential. These crests are rewarded through many different activities.

<name>, you're just in time! I was exchanging research notes with the artisans here in Silvermoon all day. Did you know they can infuse weapons and armor with the power of the dawn itself? Fascinating! I've been itching to put some of these new techniques to the test.
