Upon recovering the Sun's Reach Sanctum (completion of phase 1), this quest is replaced by Further Conversions, which has the same objective but is a permanent daily quest that can be completed for reputation and reward, and will always be available once it is unlocked.

This quest is pretty simple once you understand what you need to do.

Once you pick up the quest go right, you should just see a big field with some mobs spread out.
The Arcane Sentries are pretty large mobs, not hard. They look like the elite Sentries in netherstorm, who patrol the manaforges.
Make sure and LOOT before you use the crystal in your bag. Right now there is a bug which will cause it not to count.
They tend to drop some grey trash, sells for pretty good if you gather enough, and some motes of mana.

Overall, this is a very easy quest that shouldn't take you more then 10 minutes to complete unless there is quite a few people out there.

As of today on my server, Detheroc, we completed phase 1 and moved into the second one. We are able to still do the first dailies so I imagine they are here to stay!
Easy gold which helps me since I'm saving for my epic flyer! =)

I had trouble with this quest at first because I wasn't getting credit for converting the sentries. On my first 3 or 4 tries I used the core on the sentry before looting it and I didn't get any credit. After that I looted every corpse before using the core and they all gave me credit. I don't know if this is intentional or a bug, but if you're having trouble try looting the corpse before using the core on it.

Description

We lack the numbers to capture the Sanctum at Sun's Reach, but I've a plan that will tip the scales in our favor. The loose energy from the Sunwell has caused the sentries that patrol this island to malfunction. The crystal cores that control their behavior are damaged beyond repair. I've crafted new crystals that will bring them under our control; place them inside of the hulls of defeated sentries. We will need all the help we can get.
