Notice how the quest log says "I will find my way back - meet me back at the camp", you're not supposed to escort Wu-Peng, as he will run a while and despawn.
Do not delete the quest a couple of times, hoping to fix it. :)
When you accept the quest, he will run to the north and despawn suddenly. Just go back south to the quest hub and after some seconds the quest should be completed.
