Invasion Scenarios

There will be 6 different invasion events during the pre-launch patch. After the patch launches, invasions will become more and more frequent as we get closer to the launch of the expansion (August 30, 2016).
Each invasion is a scenario entered by anyone that moves into the invasion area, and has 4 stages:

  • Stage 1 - Defend against a general invasion point (e.g. Orgrimmar Rear Gate).

  • Stage 2 - Defeat two lieutenants and a commander.

  • Stage 3 - Defeat the invading forces marked on the map - a zone-wide objective, with each enemy NPC killed or friendly NPC saved granting a fraction of a percent of progress.

  • Stage 4 - Defeat a boss NPC at the original invasion point (requires a group).

Rewards from the invasion are as follows:

  • Stage 1 - 15 [currency=1226 domain=legion].

  • Stage 2 - [item=139048], which will contain 35 [currency=1226 domain=legion] and chance for iLevel 685 Fel-Touched Gear*.

  • Stage 3 - 60 [currency=1226 domain=legion].

  • Stage 4 - [item=139049], which will contain 90 [currency=1226 domain=legion], a chance for iLevel 685 Fel-Touched Gear*, and a chance for iLevel 700** weapons, with very unique models.

  • Completing the invasion grants an extra 60 [currency=1226 domain=legion] bonus.

TOTAL: 260 [currency=1226 domain=legion] per invasion

*This armor is the same armor that makes up the 4 transmog armor ensembles available for 1850 [currency=1226 domain=legion]. If you are wanting only the transmog appearances and not the gear, collecting it piece-by-piece from these chests will be presumably much slower than buying the Ensemble.
**These weapons can be upgraded to iLevel 725 using [item=139171], which will also be available during the pre-launch event

Completing a single invasion rewards the achievement Stand Against the Legion.
Completing 6 of the invasions (as listed below) will reward Defender of Azeroth: Legion Invasions

The above achievements will be Feats of Strength (similar to Tripping the Rifts from the Cataclysm pre-expansion event) that will not be obtainable after Legion launches.

Another Feat of Strength that will be exclusively available during the Legion pre-launch event is It All Makes Sense Now (collect all 12 of the pamphlets from Doomsayer NPCs in Orgrimmar/Stormwind).

Invasion Weapons

Below is a complete list of the invasion-exclusive weapons that can be found in the [item=139049] (Rewarded after Stage 4). Some of them have very unique models! The weapons are item level 700, but can be upgraded to 725 with [item=139171]
Note that some of the weapons have the same model, with slight variations in colour. These are grouped together in the table.

[currency=1226 domain=legion] Currency

[currency=1226 domain=legion] is a new currency that will be specific to the Legion pre-launch event. There will likely be a number of ways to obtain it, but one will be via invasion scenario events (260 [currency=1226 domain=legion] per invasion).

The items available for [currency=1226 domain=legion]s include transmog sets and item level 700 necks, rings and trinkets (as below):

During the invasion you can get 2 chests - [item=139048] and [item=139049]
These chests contains 700ivl armor and chance to get scaling weapon like [item=141603] which can be improved to 725ilvl, also you have small chance to get [item=139171] from [item=139049].
