Upon reading the completion, I see we are either dealing with a very very very smart person, or a very very very stupid person.
Or a sarcastic person.
Quest
It's Not About History, It's About Power
A World of Warcraft quest in Badlands. Facts and objectives from the current retail game data.

All the items drops from the mobs around there and not beneath the "cave"
The Alliance version is All's Fair in Love, War, and Archaeology.
I think what I like best about these two quests, in addition to the minor flavour-changing comments that Durdin and Bloodwatcher make ("stubby-fingered hands" is such a male blood elf insult), is the fact that in both cases the story lines up, namely that the Reliquary is off stealing loot and robbing graves and generally causing trouble. We know so little about this organisation, but I think it's pretty clear that the phrase "ethical investigative methods" has a substantially different meaning for them. As in, a nonexistent meaning.

What to do
Description
The Explorers' League may have a yeoman's knowledge of the actual act of digging. What they lack, however, is the good sense to USE the artifacts that they dig up. They stow their treasures in stagnant museums instead of using these items of power for their true purpose. The dwarves are fools. Fortunately, they die easily. You'll find them digging into canyon walls north of here. Take whatever you can out of their stubby-fingered hands, then return it to me.
Where to go
Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits
Before this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Bloodwatcher Point
I've got an idea, but it's a bit of a long shot. Thankfully, long shots happen to be a specialty of mine. North of here, the Reliquary has uncovered a new set of titan ruins beneath the sands. If there's anything older and wiser than dragons, it's titans.
After this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- The Warden's Pawn
One of the few items of worth that we managed to loot from these ruins is this small jade statue. We believe it to be a key of some sort, but we're unable to determine what it opens. As such, it is useless to me. Perhaps you'll have some better luck with it.
