Leave a Trail

Location: the island of The Lost Temple in the cliffs above the Aalgen flight point. Look for [npc=117262]. Your entry point is a crevice near a ruined temple guarded by a demon.

• If you do Mining as a profession, turn off "Find minerals" on the mini map. That way yellow dots will only mark locations for planting explosives.

1. Rappel used

[npc=117262] stands near the rappel point. It isn't a metal hook. The rappel point is a short wood post with a rope around it. (See screenshot.)

The post sticks out of a tree root over the crevice. Coordinates: 71.8, 42.2

2. Fel-infused gunpower acquired

You must use the rappel point to reach the ledge with the barrel of gunpowder. Mouseover to pick up the barrel.

The rest of the quest doesn't happen if you jump into the sunken ruin without using the rappel point. To get out of there you'll have to run up the curved stairs and through the fel passageway.

3. Felfire explosives placed

Place the explosives in the transparent yellow globes on the ground. The 4 locations are shown as yellow dots on the mini-map.

EDIT. The positions of the globes have changed and are now easier to find. No globes are hidden. Two globes are on the floor in the center of the room. NPCs include demons (one or two with True-sight) and fel imps. The third globe is up the flight of stairs and the fourth is in the tunnel. The placement leads you in the right direction.

4. Gunpowder lit

Torch it. Two giant fel torches are outside the cave exit. Mouseover.

To find the torches run up the curved stair and turn right through the rock passageway with fel puddles and imps.

A world quest version of the rogue campaign quest This Time, Leave a Trail. For rogues, this can be done entirely in stealth, laying the explosives doesn't reveal you.

The non-rogue version of this World Quest is called "Simply Stunning".
