FOR TINY FLAMEFLY COMPANION PET
Begin in Burning SteppesThinking of it as a questline is a bit misleading as the quests dead end at a couple points and you need to know where to go to continue. Here are my notes that I used to get the pet on 3 different toons. Good luck!
Mouton Flamestar ( 17.1, 51.3)
- Done Nothing Wrong (free 4 chained whelps)Ariok (17.5, 51.7)
- Burning Vengeance (kill 5 orcs, kill 5 whelps)
- Stocking Up (kill/loot 5 scorpids)
- A Future Project (kill/loot 11 worgs)
- Mud Hunter (pick up 9 piles of mud)
- The Sand, The Cider, and the Orb (visit some goblin)Gorzeeki Wildeyes (8.3, 35.9)
- Warlocks have the Neatest Stuff (pick up two items and kill an orc for loot)
- Shadow Boxing (kill a fancy orc)
- Return to Ariok (go back to first orc)

- Scrapped Golems (kill golems and collect specific pieces on the ground near them)

- A Perfect Costume (click on the table next to you)

Notes on time: After doing this line on one lvl 80 toon, the second lvl 80 took me about an hour. The biggest time sink is Scrapped Golems until you get the hang of it. Would appreciate a time estimate on the level if anyone has one.

Not Fireflies, Flameflies

In order to unlock the chain that grants this pet as a reward, you must first go to Flamestar Post and speak to Ariok who will ask you to kill black whelps and their trainers (Burning Vengeance). Then he will request you to bring him Scorpid Barbs, Worg Hides, and Obsidian Flecked Mud.
After these tasks are complete, he will send you to talk to a goblin, he needs some more items, specifically, The Sand, the Cider, and the Orb.
Once he has his items, he will want to accompany you to Chiselgrip and of course fight along the way.
At Chiselgrip, his father has some jobs for you. You'll have to wear a disguise for this part. Follow all directions, and when you get back, accept and complete every quest in Chiselgrip. DO NOT get rid of your disguise! Once you've completed them (it's only a few, won't take you long) Eitrigg will have more work for you.
This time you're back in your disguise, and you're off to see the General. He'll have a few things for you to do, fighting, and keeping the soldiers in line.
Eitrigg will also have a task for you over there.
Once you get back, Eitrigg and his son will accompany you to Flame Crest, where Kibler will FINALLY give you this quest.Enjoy your Tiny Flamefly!
I just wanted to add that I also had to do Done Nothing Wrong from Mouton Flamestar in order to get Chiselgrip, the Heart of the Steppes to open up. It's just a quest to free the nearby whelps, might as well do it while killing the black whelps and whelpers.

Description
Most of my fellow residents here at Flame Crest seem to have left at some point. I guess the Burning Steppes weren't INTERESTING enough for them. Not me, though. I'm always finding new reasons to not leave, and the latest happens to be the flameflies that have been appearing lately. They appear near lava during the day. By night, you'll find them almost anywhere. If you wouldn't mind collecting some, I might be able to make it worth your while.
