We (hunter and druid level 73) got though the town and then once we hit the bottom (carrion fields?) it was ....a tad stressful!
We decided to fly to grizzly hills ( i think it is amberpine lodge)
and if you look at the roads, you see that it is not far to dawns reach. So, we did that and didn't see one mob on the way.
Maybe we're just tired ( true) but we kept going the wrong way in the fields area and ending up with 5-6 mobs on us multiple times.
If that doesn't bother you, then just head the way the quest states. But coming from grizzly hills worked very well. In fact as we were getting close we almost ran into Orik Trueheart right on the road we were traveling. Didn't take long at all.
It's actually much easier than that. Go alongside the Inn and go straight pass the left turn towards the mausoleum, and keep going into the mountains, and after a few feet you will come to Vengeance Pass. Take a left and hug the mountain on your right, you won't run into a single mob. When you come to the sign post at the Intersection, go left he is right there. Takes about 20 seconds to get there from the Inn.

What to do
Description
I have gazed upon the orb and seen the path that you must walk, {name}. Many years ago an atrocity was committed upon the shores of Dragonblight. The act itself remains shrouded in darkness, but I am certain that your destiny lies south, amidst the ruins of the Forgotten Shore. Take the road southeast through the ravaged town square. Follow the trail until you arrive at Dawn's Reach. You will meet an old friend of mine there known as Orik Trueheart. He will be expecting you.
