i would just like to point out that Rattlebore is a female she is the spawnmother as the quest states
This is good advice. Rattlebore is at the very end of a long series of caves called "Ice Heart Cavern" filled with Ice Heart Jormungar Feeders and their little pals Ice Heart Jormungar Spawn. The larger ones apply a corrosive spit debuff which you are probably familiar with from the lead up to this quest.
Rattlebore himself is in a larger cavern surrounded by the smaller worms, which you probably should clear before attempting the fight. He has 100,000+ HP and hits harder, especially after his debuffs (Powerful Bite and Corroded Mind) are applied. Fun facts:
- Immune to sleep
- Immune to fear
- Immune to slowing
- Immune to snares/roots
So, basically, kiting is right out. However, some people have claimed success by DOT'ing him and then running like the wind for the tunnel exit. He will reset if you outdistance him when he tries to cast, though. The quest is probably soloable by some classes, especially well-geared tanks who can heal themselves. It's definitely two-mannable with a tank+healer or tank+dps if you're sufficiently geared. For three people, it's easily done, even if you've only got cloth wearing DPS -- just remember to clear the nearby spawns and take turns with the aggro,

What to do
Description
The jormungar have a spawnmother in the caverns below. We call her Rattlebore - a name that was gifted to her by an adventurer from the Plaguelands. I saw her only briefly as I was fighting off their initial onslaught - she is large enough to devour one of my young whole. This cavern will not be ours until she is removed from it.

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

- Worm Wrangler
So be it. If the giants will not come to our aid, perhaps we can make use of these worms. There are sure to be some spawn with their brood mother in the cavern below. Take this box and capture 3 of their spawn and bring them to me. Where diplomacy fails, enslaving is a perfectly viable alternative.
