TheWoWDBIf you're having trouble sticking the landing, with the gargoyle "rescuing" you from just above or even inside the target's ground, I found this to be the shortest and easiest way:
Aim for this orb - you might run out of Anima before it, but as you fall through it, it will recharge the parasol. Continue gliding towards the target.
edit: probably works better if you're not standing at the edge of the platform when you start. Personally, I pick up the parasol, orient myself without moving, then use the parasol.

PSA for all those Venthyr members that are looking for an easy route to the start of this quest.
Fly to Darkhaven (south east of quest map marker), Just west of wher you land you can click a Dreadbat Statue, and for 5 Infused Rubies the bat will fly you to the start.
This is on the top floor of the Grande Palisade. Make your way up top, and grab a parasol and use the extra action bar to jump to the closest anima (which powers the parasol to get you to the other side).
No worries if you miss anima and seem like you are falling to your death... you will be picked up and sent back to the starting point.
Something to be aware of is that if you overshoot the landing pad you will not get to finish the quest. However I was able to leap off the edge to a closely floating animal and the parasol popped back up and I got enough of a boost to land back on the landing pad to finish the quest. Good luck!
