Very possibly a reference to the legend of the origins of coffee - Kaldi, a goat herder is said to have discovered coffee after noticing that his goats, upon eating berries from a certain tree, became so spirited that they did not want to sleep at night.

I was actually impressed with the idea: it's difficult work for a Grummle to do, but it's so easy and natural for the groot... so why not let nature take care of the hard part?
It's called "efficiency"! Too many people like old [npc=60503] here mistake efficiency with laziness.
They mistake brilliance in the creation of these efficient new methods for simple laziness.
He's only complaining because it didn't work out and now all the groots are caffeinated out their arses.
But if it had worked, he'd be commending [npc=60596] on his ingenuity!

Moral of this Story:
Don't listen to people when they call you lazy.
Your boss calls you into their office to tell you that you need to stop being so lazy?
Tell them they're mistaken -- you're being efficient, not lazy.
And if it looks like your efficiency isn't paying off and is perceived to be causing problems, well...
