Shut 'er Down

Shut 'er Down is a quest for level 10-40 in Shadowmoon Valley. It is step 16 of 18 in The Exarch Council storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Shadowmoon Valley at 61.9, 29.7. It rewards 1 reputation reward, 5,450 experience and money.

Description

Burrowing native creatures known as "goren" have tunneled into our crystal mines. Judging from our experience at the gates, I suspect my own experimental resonance crystal is whipping the native wildlife into a frenzy.

Enter the Elodor Dig to the north and disable the malfunctioning resonance crystal!

Be careful - my earthworkers report that the mine is crawling with those beasts.

If you're blind like I was, go in the cave behind the quest giver until the end of the cave ledge. Take a right and follow the bridge down. At the end of the bridge, look right at another, smaller purple crystal. Behind the crystal is a switch on the ground. Flip the switch and you're done.

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • The Traitor's True NameShadowmoon Valley · Level 10-40

We must give the traitor no place to hide. I have a focusing lens that will illuminate cloaked fel energy. If it were placed on a high point, it could act like a beacon, lighting up anyone in town who reeks of the fel taint.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Trust No OneShadowmoon Valley · Level 10-40

Nothing is the same since I returned. There is always whispering - everywhere, whispering. Maraad cannot see it, but there are even traces of fel energy here in Elodor. We have been infiltrated! I must attend to the Exarch Council, but I need you to investigate.
