For those that didn't know, this quest line was a dedication to a one Brad Bridenbecker, brother to Rob Bridenbecker VP of Online Technologies. Brad had suffered from cancer and was an avid WoW player. His brother requested some memorial be set up for his brother and Chris Metzen, along with others, thought up this quest line to immortalize his battle with cancer within our beloved fantasy realm.

Hats off to you, Blizzard, Chris Metzen, and the whole Bridenbecker family. As a childhood cancer survivor myself, you have my utmost respect and loyalty to your honor and vision. You've truly epitomized the struggle of one going through the sickness, the battle, in the most accurate way possible, and bring honor to all of us who have suffered, and have watched those who have suffered, the same battle.

Lok'tar, brother Brad. Lok'tar.

Description

You must understand, young {race}, that cleansing the body in favor of life anew is something well within my grasp... removing the plague of undeath without affecting the body, however, is beyond the scope of the powers that I control. If this Bridenbrad is the beacon of light that you profess him to be, perhaps he will endure such a cleansing and thrive, but I cannot state with confidence that this is the salvation that you seek. Take it and go with all of my blessings.

  • Dahlia's TearsThe Dragonmurk · Level 25-30

In this dark time, I'll not be the one to abandon a champion of the Light. We will need something sacred for this to have a hope of saving your Bridenbrad... a remnant of a devout being that fell victim to this very same plague.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Hope Yet RemainsIcecrown · Level 25-30

<Bridenbrad raises a hand to you as he catches his breath.> It was nearly as painful as it looked, but it was as if I could feel some of the corruption being burnt away from within my body. It seems the plague is not so readily bested though. <class>, thank you for everything that you have done.
