A Hero Remains

A Hero Remains is a quest for level 25-30 in Icecrown. It is step 156 of 167 in the Icecrown storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Icecrown at 79.8, 71.8. It rewards 1 reputation reward, 4,100 experience and money.

Description

I know why you've come... they've sent you to bring me back, but that cannot happen. I carry the plague of undeath, <class>, and I'll not share my fate with those near me. No, I shall stay here.

My only regret lies in what I may become when death grips me. I do not fear death itself, but I loathe to consider serving the traitor, Arthas.

Leave me... and see to it that no one else comes looking. You would do me a great disservice if you were to expose anyone to the plague that I carry.

For those that didn't know, this quest line was a dedication to a one Brad Bridenbecker, brother to Rob Bridenbecker VP of Online Technologies. Brad had suffered from cancer and was an avid WoW player. His brother requested some memorial be set up for his brother and Chris Metzen, along with others, thought up this quest line to immortalize his battle with cancer within our beloved fantasy realm.

Hats off to you, Blizzard, Chris Metzen, and the whole Bridenbecker family. As a childhood cancer survivor myself, you have my utmost respect and loyalty to your honor and vision. You've truly epitomized the struggle of one going through the sickness, the battle, in the most accurate way possible, and bring honor to all of us who have suffered, and have watched those who have suffered, the same battle.

Lok'tar, brother Brad. Lok'tar.
