The Pale Threat is a Horde-only quest for level 35-40 in Nagrand. It is step 11 of 13 in The Throne of the Elements storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Nagrand at 55.5, 55.9. It rewards 5,450 experience and money.

Description

The Pale are wretched creatures that hide beneath the ground, ever plotting against those who dwell upon the surface. They stalk the Underpale, a twisted and dark cavern beneath Oshu'gun.

If we are to succeed in stopping Cho'gall we must fight our way through their ranks beneath the earth.

Make your way into the cavern, slay the vile creatures within and take out the Pale leader... the one known as Greyseer.

The quest spot isn't quite helpful. This all happens in a cave - entrance is at 55.27, 63.69.

Tom Tom:

/way 55.27, 63.69

Hug the left wall at the entrance then you'll start seeing Pale orcs. Then swing a U-Turn while hugging left and you'll hear Greyseer whisper to you.

Getting pretty tired of these quests where you have double back climb up a rock look for some God forsaken cave where the NPC doesn't show up on your map because someone has killed him. No direction there no ingame map no directions. You have to look at a website just to finish a quest.

It's getting annoying. I know some of you love to visit a website to understand how to finish a quest but it's idiotic. To spend minutes searching just to realize Blizzard hid a quest objective forcing you to search on a website should be illegal.

I bought the game, I paid for it, I should not have now give ad revenue to someone's website. It's annoying and it's a scam. No offence to wowhead but this quest is obnoxious.

The way into Oshu'gun begins east of Oshu'gun in Shadowfall Canyon. There are 2 entrances into Shadowfall Canyon (marked on the map - mouse over dots for coordinates). If you enter @ 55,63, you will find a second cave entrance inside Shadowfall Canyon on the left hand wall a short distance in, called the Underpale.

Once inside, follow your minimap, as the terrain is visually confusing.

* Note: Two screenshots were added showing one of the entrances to Shadowfall Canyon as well as the entrance to the Underpale. (Right click links and open in new tab / window to see them).

Where to go

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Dark BindingNagrand · Level 35-40

Even as we speak, the pale within Shadowfall Canyon are enslaving the elements to their will. Many elemental spirits have already been enthralled, and more will follow. The pale must be stopped and the elementals they enslave set free.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • The Fate of GordawgNagrand · Level 35-40

Looming monstrously between us and the inner chamber is the great fury we have sought to return to the Throne of Elements. Gordawg stands before us enthralled; a slave to the pale and their mysterious master. My heart is heavy with grief to see such a great creature mindless and enslaved by evil.
