TheWoWDByou have to do the series of quests at Lake kel'theril which will send you to nymn he'll say thanks we may need you later. so after you do the Hammer, axe and sword chain (in building with banker) then you can do the yeti quest chain from umi rumpelsnicker and then Nymn should be ready to offer you The pursuit of umbranes

That may be one of the pre-requisites... but I've completed that quest and preceding quest chain, even gained a level out of it. 57 Rogue, and this quest is not available to me currently. So, my conclusion is that there is something else that is a pre-requisite. Just confirmed that the quest did not become available to me until I completed the Yetiphobia quest.
How to get this breadcrumb quest:
- Check that you have not completed or accepted any quests from [npc=10929], OR
- Party sync with a character that has not completed or accepted any quests in Winterspring.
Then do the following quests in this order:
- Threat of the Winterfall - pick up at /way #83 25.0 58.6 Donova Snowden
- Falling to Corruption
- Mystery Goo
- Winterfall Runners
- High Chief Winterfall
- High Chief Winterfall will drop [item=12842], which starts The Final Piece. Winterfall will not drop it unless you're on the quest to kill him. Once you have it, you can ignore all other quests currently in your log and proceed with the next ones in this list.

Description
We have isolated Umbranse's position here in Winterspring. It is as I suspected. Umbranse is at Mazthoril, the cavern that once belonged to the blue dragonflight, in the southwest. My mother, Haleh, will greet you there. She is stationed outside of the cave in a small camp with a few other survivors. Look for her campfire.
