TheWoWDBThis item can only be looted from the heroic version of the instance and all dungeon quests from the Tavern/Inn now require you to kill the last boss in each instance also.
If you are as geared as you can be and/or don't really want to run heroics, you can also complete the dungeon on normal and still get credit for the boss kill required. You then just extend the heroic lockout and run back in on heroic to collect the item.

The item can actually be used on the bosses also!
After completing the mythic dungeon, I was teleported out as all the party members left. Also, the item did not show up on the map when I was tracking the quest.
However, I re-entered the dungeon, and went to the location of the item, and it was still there. I could pick it up even in mythic, and so managed to complete the quest after all.

Description
An old deckhand inspected that device you brought us, and thinks it was quite the forgery. This Iron Horde is trying to copy the mechanism, but they don't quite have the technology. When you get right down to it, we're not sure how these primitive beasts got a hold of this kind of tool. Wouldn't be half as good of a sea tale if we knew, ha! We've still got a pile of treasure with your name on it, if you can find us the real compass.
