TheWoWDBAs soon as you finalize your Lumber Mill in your Garrison you will get a new tracking option which can be toggled via the Tracking icon near your mini map and its called "Find Timber". It works just like Herbalism or Mining, the quest will send you to some place in Gorgrond map and once you get there just walk around and keep an eye on your mini map till you find the trees.
PS: Dont forget to look at the peons cutting the trees , some are really funny looking :)

Here's a tale of something that happened to me, in case it happens to you too.
I had gone out into the world, and gotten 11 Lumber. It was in my bags. I went to go turn in the quest, which had a silver ?. The NPC showed I had 0 Lumber, and I needed 10. I used identifying addons to hover over it, and it confirmed that that was the exact item. I reloaded, logged in and out, cleared my interface/cache directories...
Then read it's a 2-parter quest. Gather 10 Lumber, then submit a Work Order. ... Sheepishly I did that and it worked just fine.
I want my peons to be singing, "I'm a lumberjack / And I'm okayyyyyyyyyy..."

Description
Now that you know how to put peons to work harvesting timber, we're going to create a work order for your mill. But first we're going to need some timber to process! All around Draenor are juicy trees ripe for the chopping. Go out and find suitable timber for the lumber mill. Come back here when you have enough and we'll get started on a work order. And as usual, let the peons do the hard work. Just keep 'em protected. Draenor's a dangerous place!
