Tested with 2.4.3 just a few minutes ago. An other party member accepted this quest and I already had Visions of Destruction in my log.

Accepting this quest excludes you from accepting Visions of Destruction and vice versa. The NPCs won't even show you an exclamation mark.

Also you won't be able to share this quest with someone who has Visions of Destruction and vice versa. As soon as I removed Visions of Destruction from my log, my party member could share his quest with me and I was also able to accept this quest from the NPC.

Both quest give 1150 experience so it won't matter which one you do.

Just another one of those quests that lead to a new questing hub - Wildhammer stronghold is to your right just a little while after entering Shadowmoon valley from terrokar, past Legion hold. If your alliance you probably have the flight path for Allerian Stronghold - if you haven't been to SMV bfr this is the fastest way to get there

i couldn't seem to get the quest from fantei, but when i went to zorus in shadowmoon valley, he had the Ghost in the Machine quest for me, so i guess maybe the first leg of the chain was eliminated at some point...

Description

The history of Shadowmoon Valley is a long and troubled one. Few delve into it for fear of breathing new life into the unspeakable atrocities that took place there. Not all are so timid, though. Zorus the Judicator searches for the truth about the ghosts of Shadowmoon's past. It is a staggering undertaking, one with which he would welcome help, I'm sure. If you should venture into the valley, look for Zorus at Wildhammer Stronghold, in the central portion of the valley's southern region.
