A Death Knight Talent. Surely a biblical reference:
Revelation 6:8
I looked, and there was a pale horse! Its rider's name was Death, and Hades followed him. They were given authority over one-fourth of the earth to kill people using wars, famines, plagues, and the wild animals of the earth.Seems kinda Death-Knight'ish to me.

Talent Analysis
Not a damage increase, but a utility talent, On A Pale Horse provides assistance whether you are on said horse or not. The increase to mount speed is always welcome as a way to cut down travelling time. The 30% reduction in snare uptime is also welcome, as it allows the DK to rush into (or out of) battle more quickly.Soloers will want this talent, so that they can go in between their quests while levelling much faster than without it. However, in a dungeon and raid environment, you are rarely mounted. The snare reduction may see some use in instancing, however, it shines greater in PvP, where snares are thrown about like confetti at a tacky wedding.
My talent analyses are always able to be edited if people believe I've missed, or wrongly included something as significant.
Tooltip
You are as hard to stop as death itself, increasing your mounted speed by 20%.

The big plus to this talent is not that mount speed increase. its the snare duration reduction which is a NEED if you plan on doing PVP in Blood spec. Stack in the Snare reduction Meta Gem and the Bone Shield glyph to catch and crush your enemy.
If I could tell about the speeds a little bit easier to understand. By default, your charachter speed is already 100%. When your mount increases your speed by 60%, 100%, 280%, or even 310%, your total speed will be 160%, 200%, 380% or even 410% and that is your actual mounted speed. When you have an effect that increases your mounted speed by 20%, your real total speed will be 192%, 240%, 456% or even 492%. If you like to say your mount speed as talent's speed increase calculated into it, your mount speed will be +92%, +140%, +356% or even +392%. I hope you enjoyed from this fact which I've
This talent is the title of a book by Piers Anthony, where a common Joe becomes the new Death. First book in the Incarnations of Immortality series, and on a personal note, highly recommended.
Anyone know if this will stack with Open Skies when Mag'har Orcs gain the ability to be Death Knights?
This is a very good talent.
I have a warrior lvl 85. Have the 10% buff from guild and 310% riding. In the characterscreen his speed when mounted and in the air is listed at 451%. ((100+310)*1.1)=451.
I also have a DK lvl 71 with 280% riding with this talent maxed out. His speed is ((100+280)*1,2)=456
So if you have a DK and have a frostspec (which you should have anyways for soloing/questing) you basicly have Master riding without having to spend G's on the skill. You even fly faster!
We may interpret this as the DK class itself: pale horse= This talent but even the Acherus Deathcharger Its rider's name was Death= Death horse rider= Death Knight Hades followed him=In my(italian)school bible, hades is translated as "esercito di morti"(army of dead),so hades= Army of the Dead spell wars=the DK's ability to use weapons famines=Death and Decay plagues=the diseases and Pestilence wild animals=in my(italian)school bible,it says"bestie"(beasts) instead of wild animals,so beasts=ghouls
Well....I might be mistaken, but.... "This does not stack with other movement speed increasing effects." seems to suggest no.
When you build a Stables (Level 1) you gain these abilities:
Enables the capture and training of special mounts on Draenor. Also allows you remain mounted while interacting with objects in outdoor Draenor zones. These abilities are in your Spellbook & Abilities Frame under the Spellbook tab (bottom) and General tab (top right). As you search through you will find [spell=169606].
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------When you upgrade to Stables (Level 2) you gain an additional ability:
You will no longer get dazed by enemies while riding mounts in outdoor Draenor zones. And the spell listed in your Spellbook is [spell=169605].
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
When you upgrade your Stables (Level 3) you gain an additional ability:
Increases mount speed in Draenor by 20%.And the spell listed in your Spellbook is [spell=169607].

MOVEMENT SPEED
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I hear discussions and talk of whether or not this speed buff stacks with others, and I realize that they, like me, did not notice the one of most incredibly important Patch Notes for the expansion. Everyone is up in arms over flying in Draenor, and no one has even realized how slowly they are riding in Draenor. The NEW approach to "Movement Speed" (Speed Buffs) is a terrible NERF that I have noticed and wondered about for weeks. It never made sense to me until I read the LAST section of:
The Iron Tide: 6.0.2 Patch Notes
(http://us.battle.net/wow/en/blog/15682579#movement_speed)Take for instance a character that had a racial or class speed buff of 5%
(the two that come to mind are much more robust Crusader Aura/On a Pale Horse),
a guild perk speed buff ([spell=78633] - all guilds have it today) of 10%,
and let's add the Stables (Level 3) buff of [spell=169607] which equals 20%.So we'll use three buffs - 5%, 10%, and 20% (for this example we will consider them all to be stackable).
Much of the confusion lies in the fact that speed is measure in percent of normal running speed. Walking speed is 40% and when adjusted for in-game distance it is equivalent to 5.784 mph and running of course would be 100% and 14.46 mph.The Maximums are:
An unbuffed character Running@100% (14.46 mph),
Journeyman Riding allows Riding@200% (28.92 mph),
and
Master Riding allows Flying@410% (59.29 mph) .------------------------------- MoP --------------------------------------
In Mist of Pandaria (MoP) speed buffs would be calculated multipicatively against the base speed then added to that speed so:
Running:
100% x .05 (05%) = +05%
100% x .10 (10%) = +10%
100% x .20 (20%) = +20%
100% + 05% + 10% (Stables buff is only mounted) = 115% (16.63mph)Riding:
200% x .05 (05%) = +10%
200% x .10 (10%) = +20%
200% x .20 (20%) = +40%
200% + 10% + 20% + 40% = 270% (39.04mph)Flying:
410% x .05 (05%) = +20.5%
410% x .10 (10%) = +41.0%
410% x .20 (20%) = +82.0%
410% + 20.5% + 41.0% + 82.0% = 553.5% (80.04mph)------------------------------- WoD --------------------------------------
Today speed buffs would be calculated additively and only the highest speed buff is used:
Running:
100% + 05% = 105%
100% + 10% = 110%
100% + 20% = 120%
The highest buff is +110% (Stables buff is only mounted)
110% (15.91mph) ===> -5% (-0.72mph) in speed from MoP.Riding:
200% + 05% = 205%
200% + 10% = 210%
200% + 20% = 220%
The highest buff is +220%
220% (31.81mph) ===> -50% (-7.23mph) in speed from MoP.If they ever let us fly again.
They have at least slowed it down.
Be certain that even the folks from Irvine can handle it.Flying:
200% + 05% = 415%
200% + 10% = 420%
200% + 20% = 430%
The highest buff is +430%
430% (62.18mph) ===> -123.5% (-17.86mph) in speed from MoP.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
In MoP, I was flying along at 451% with [spell=78633] (410% x 1.1 = 451%)
today in WoD I am flying along at 420% with [spell=78633] (410% + 10% = 420%)Just think, by the time they give us flying our max speed may be 250% ... just to make sure folks living in Irvine can keep up.
(By the way, Irvine is a city built in the valley where I was born and raised. A population in that valley of 3k is now 3Mil. I am "Old and Slow".)
Well, you're not on a 270% flying mount, you're on a 280% flying mount. Then the calculation is (100%(run speed) + 280%(mounted speed increase)) * 1.2 = 456%, or the equivalent of a 356% mount.
I see all the time that people don't know how to calculate the speed after these talents are in use.
When you have a mount with +310% speed, your total speed is 410% which is your Mounted speed. 410*1,2=Your new total speed with this talent. Your total speed is 492%, so this talent will give you a 392% mount.
Does NOT stack with Mount Up. Tested this also with addon MonkeySpeed.
Does not stack with Light-Step Hoofplates mount equipment.
Furthermore, I am testing with my kid (drag racing in Ardenweald :D), and our mount speeds are the same. We have the same mount equipment, and I have the DK passive while her DH does not.
retadins get a talent like this but gives -50% disarm duration and +15% mounted speed.
c'mon, blizz, if retadins get +15%, why cant DKs?
Yes, it does increase flying speed while mounted.
It may not stack, but with 2/2, you will go faster regardless of the guild perk.
This does not stack with Broken Isles Pathfinding. Looks like one might just replace the other as soon as you get it.
I understand the feeling, but it's something Blizzard seems to be pretty consistent about. All of the talents that provide bonus is to movement speed, either run speed or mounted speed, are in the second tier of their tree: On a Pale Horse for DKs, Ancestral Swiftness for Shaman, Pursuit of Justice for Pallies, Quickening for Rogues, and Pathfinding for Hunters. You can get them no matter what your spec is, but Blizzard clearly wants them to be a major decision that heavily effects your sub-spec. If they were in the first tier, there'd be no contest.
This was probobly answered but Does this ability increase your Flying Mount speed as well?
Or you could just look at the talent: "This does not stack with other movement speed increasing effects."
I believe the paladin one is the second calculation. So probably the same here.
Does anyone know if this works with the guild perk "mount up"?
Paladins get a talent that increases their unmounted speed by 15% and an aura that increases their mounted speed by 20%. It's strictly better.
I really wish this was more useful. At 2 points, and in the Frost tree, this is a fairly expensive convenience talent. It's great for PvP, but even PvE'ers would love that faster mount speed attached to something more interesting.
Unholy Presense increases DK's unmounted speed by 15%.
So look at it this way, Pally's get a talent that increases their unmounted speed, and a spell that increases their mounted speed.
DK's, on the other hand, get a talent that increases their mounted speed, and a spell that increases their unmounted speed.
Instead of another 30% stun/fear reduction, we also get a 15% attack speed increase.
Pretty much the same thing, except we get unholy presense at 70.
Wait, so how does this work?
Let's say I'm on a 270% flying mount. How does this talent calculate my new speed?
1. 270 + 20 = 290% speed
or
2. 270 * 1.20 = 324% speed
The guild perks stack with all other effects, even ones that say they don't stack with similar effects.
WELL, isn't that obvious! the whole premise of the books are to depict a group of mystical beings based on the ideals of the common man(or woman just so i don't get a stupid quote of this even though the term man is commonly used to depict HUMAN kind and not to say that women don't have anything men don't [besides a certain organ]) to give an explanation (if biased) to where these powers that be come from. the bible is one of the best known forms of this. and yes I'm Cristian and no i don't think the current bible/bibles are accurate. catholics have molested a great religion by turni
Hey guize Noobcake here. Juts so u know, in case teh other half of the comments about mounted speed before this didn't tel u, this talent make u fly FASTAR! Hur hur, bet u dindnt' kno that did U?
